Life is not about limitations, confining into the thoughts that one's afraid of or taken one's own life for granted. Atleast when you know yourself better than the others. It's a" jug " where you can pour water, lime juice or sugarcane juice ( of all moods). Go,Embrace 🫂
দেবীপক্ষ শুরু হয়ে গেলI In 1931, a 26-year-old Calcutta radio man was told he could not recite the Chandi Path on air because he was not a priest. He recited it anyway, and 95 years later, Bengal still wakes at 4 a.m. on Mahalaya to hear Birendra Krishna Bhadra.
The programme was Mahishasuramardini, first broadcast live at dawn from Akashvani, Calcutta, in 1931. Script by Bani Kumar, music by Pankaj Kumar Mullick, and one voice that would come to define the start of Durga Puja.
When orthodox critics objected to a Kayastha chanting the Chandi, Bani Kumar refused to drop him. The orchestra itself included Muslim musicians. It was Bengal’s syncretic genius, broadcast before sunrise.
For 35 years it went out live. From 1966, Akashvani has played a recording, the same one millions still switch on today.
In 1976, AIR replaced it with “Durga Durgatiharini”, narrated by Uttam Kumar, the biggest star in Bengal. Listeners revolted. The next year, Bhadra was back. Nobody has tried since.
Bhadra died in 1991. The voice did not. A short animated film on the man and the broadcast that became a ritual 👇শুভ মহালয়াI

The words are written with such warmth & emotions, heartfelt! Nana Patekar also shared his love once for SRK. He said, everybody changes, except him. Rest in peace Nana Patekar.
When I first met him, out of awe and awkwardness I fiddled with my hair. He slapped my hand away and said 'hero ki tarah Baal mat bana...tu actor hai'!
He didn't flatter you. He didn't tell you what you wanted to hear. He told you what you needed to hear. That was Nana. Straightforward. Rough, honest and had the most beautiful smile.
He always had a strange way of showing affection. He would shout at you first, and then somewhere between the third or fourth insult, you realised you were being hugged. He loved me and I loved him back.
He was a mentor, a teacher, a critic and a friend who beat me and everyone else around him in carrom game after game and relished his victories.
Nana your intensity, laughter , madness and love will always stay with us. I just wish we had time to have more conversations, another argument, another cup of tea and a game of carrom.
You have left a void not only in the world of cinema but in the hearts of all Indians and the world. All I can say is, I will miss you dearly and carry your words in my heart till the end of time....'hero banne ke chakar mein actor mat khona'
May your soul rest in peace Nana and Allah bless you. The Heavens will be blessed to have you... a masterful actor and an unbeatable carrom champion. Love you and miss you dearly!! Too soon my Hero Actor! RIP.
FYI: During the 1999 Kargil War, Nana Patekar spent weeks on the frontlines, living in bunkers to motivate our jawans, earning the honorary rank of Captain. 🇮🇳

Another proud moment for Project Cheetah!
An Indian-born cheetah has given birth to five healthy cubs at Kuno National Park, taking India’s cheetah population to 60, including 41 Indian-born cheetahs.
The cubs also mark the beginning of the Botswanan lineage in India- a significant step in building a genetically diverse and thriving cheetah population.

Once, this old Bonedi Bari would come alive in all its grandeur during Durga Puja. Today, the walls are faded, the facade worn, and the splendour has long begun to crumble. Yet, beneath the peeling plaster and weathered columns, the tradition continues—year after year, the Goddess still comes home.
AI creation inspired by the living heritage and visual memory of old North Kolkata Bonedi Bari culture.
