I missed that the German enterprise software giant SAP started to offer a 'data marketplace' that includes personal information about billions from many of the most problematic data brokers like Gravy, SafeGraph, Veraset, People Data Labs, LexisNexis Risk.

Zoom updates its Terms of Service to become the NSA 2.0:
I'm in disbelief at this update because of how far-sweeping it is, yet here we are. Direct quotes from section 10.2
"You consent to Zoom's access, use, collection, creation, modification, distribution, processing, sharing, maintenance, storage of [ the stuff you say in meetings ] for any purpose....
... you hereby unconditionally and irrevocably assign to Zoom ... and your end users to unconditionally and irrevocably assign to Zoom all right, title, and interest in and to [ the stuff you say in meetings ], including all Proprietary rights... "
Does this strike anyone else as far-reaching, utterly insane, and totally unethical?
Gentle reminder that Google Meets is free, and that Zoom insists workers come into the office because they admit their business model only made sense in the pandemic.
You can read more about Zoom's claims to own all the stuff you say during meetings, the stuff your users say in meetings, and probably the things your children will say near your phone when it's locked here, on their website, as they commit corporate suicide:

Meta bought VPN app Onavo Protect in 2012.
Australia just fined Meta AUD 20m for using Onavo to spy on people.
In 2013, device data collected via Onavo showed Meta that people were leaving Facebook Messenger for WhatsApp.
Meta bought WhatsApp the following year.
Just... Wow.

In case you missed it, Microsoft announced in a statement last week that it faces a $425 million GDPR fine.
All we know is that the decision is via the Irish DPC, is at the preliminary draft stage, and involves LinkedIn's ad-targeting practices.
Here is the entire statement.
Complying with the obligations under the #GDPR can seem daunting at times, especially if you're a small business owner. Here's a quick checklist to help you on your way. For more info, consult the EDPB Data Protection Guide for #smallbusiness: https://t.co/1vSYt06mEh

Google's privacy settings cannot be trusted.
They're settling a lawsuit over allegations of misleading users, secretly recording their movements even after location tracking had been turned off, and offering that data to marketers to sell advertisements. https://t.co/i31rV4gpcC
