#WATCH | Delhi: Chairperson, Sansad Ratna Award Committee, Priyadharshni Rahul says, "... The Sansad Ratna Awards are an initiative by Prime Point Foundation, a 25-year-old NGO from Chennai run by Mr. Srinivasan. Each year, data from the Lok Sabha, Rajya Sabha is analysed to evaluate the performance of parliamentarians and standing committees. This year marks the 16th edition of the awards, with 10 MPs from the Lok Sabha, 2 from the Rajya Sabha, and 4 standing committees being recognised. Importantly, the awards cross the milestone of 150 honours since their inception in 2009 with the blessings of Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam. Among the recipients are two former Chief Ministers from Punjab and UP as well as a former deputy chief minister from Gujarat. Two women MPs from Maharashtra are also honoured, making this year notable for women’s representation..."
