Before I had a job, I would spend days like this outside with a book. Now I spend gorgeous days in my dark corner in front of my computer.
On one hand, I really miss the dedicated sun time, on the other, I love serving my community.
The years of recovery following mental illness turned into lazy days. Now I steal sunshine when I can AND get to do things I never thought I could do.
I think it’s a win, but new opportunities come with full lifestyle shifts and I’m here for it. 💚

Such a pleasure coming together with the team at Metabolic Collective and being part of a growing movement to amplify the role of metabolic therapies as a viable treatment option for those living with mental and neurological illness.
So very grateful to @chrispalmermd for joining the conversation and contributing his perspective as our clinical advisor.🙏❤️

@Metabolic_Mind@nytimes I am so glad high quality scientific proof is being published on this. It has been more than 12 months of me using metabolic therapies like keto. After ~20 years of symptom management with only meds, I now feel I am moving on from my label (schizophrenia) and onto a better life
Just when you think that it can’t get any dumber out here….RFK Jr. comes along claiming that a keto diet can cure schizophrenia and erase bipolar disorder
A $10 million RCT of bipolar depression (funded by the Wellcome trust) will be taking place over the next several years. It takes time to do high quality studies, but they are underway.
2 RCTs of the ketogenic diet for schizophrenia just wrapped up— results coming within the year hopefully.
Keto Mash Hack: Lower Sat Fat & Creamy
I saw this viral cauliflower mash recipe and immediately thought—this is clever, but we can make it fit the Pro Keto lifestyle even better.
I was actually surprised by this clip from Dr. Dan Maggs. I usually assume stone fruits like peaches and apricots are too sweet for my routine, but at around 8g of net carbs per 100g, they actually fit my personal criteria.
Why Keto Isn't One-Size-Fits-All (Reaction to Nick Norwitz)
I loved this point by Nick Norwitz about how keto is a metabolic state, not just a list of foods. It really highlights something I believe strongly: we don't all metabolize things the same way.
@DoctorTro@janellison@Metabolic_Mind@metcoalition I have had the privilege of working closely with Jan for more than two years in my role at Metabolic Mind. Her tireless, day-in and day-out dedication to advancing metabolic health & changing lives is extraordinary. She is one of the most hardworking people I have ever met. ❤️
Watching the metabolic health movement grow gives me so much hope. Seeing organizations like Metabolic Collective form to bring people together and advocate for this approach is truly profound. I am really proud to be a part of this too.
