a world cup co-hosted by mexico, a spanish speaking country, and reporters are banned from asking questions in spanish like do you know how ridiculous racist and weird you have to be to push for only english at a global event
Curazao marcó, se incendió el partido y te meten un cooling break para matarte el ritmo
Esto no es fútbol, no podemos permitir que hagan esto a nivel de clubes
The hydration portion of that break was finished & the players were just standing around to wait for the commercials to finish so the ref can restart the game. The US are corrupting our f*cking sport.
It’s currently 86° in Houston and they’re playing indoors in a climate-controlled stadium. Have some respect for fans’ intelligence and call it what it is: a commercial break.
Are we really going to keep up this charade for the entire tournament?
This is truly horrendous. Curaçao have just scored their first ever World Cup goal and have momentum and then they stop the game for commercials. Absolutely detest this. No place for this nonsense in football.
And THAT from Curaçao 🇨🇼 is what the World Cup is about. Not advertising slots masquerading as hydration breaks, gauche gold FIFA branding everywhere, and exclusion through exorbitant pricing plus ridiculous travel restrictions.
Pausa de hidratación a las 9:30pm en Boston a 24 grados. Infantino acabó con el fútbol. Es nuestro deber moral criticar esta estupidez hasta que la quiten.
A train ride from Manhattan to MetLife Stadium for the World Cup costs nearly $100. So TIME's Sean Gregory walked 13 miles from Penn Station to see if getting to New Jersey mostly on foot was a cheaper alternative. Here's how long it took—and what it cost.
These hydration breaks are for the US to add an additional 2 commercial breaks during the broadcast. Disgraceful. Fuck FIFA for destroying our beloved tournament.
You know it’s bad when it’s Day 2 of the world’s biggest sporting event and you already have to send your PR team to X to try and justify the empty stadiums 🤦🏻♂️ what an absolute disaster for the local football fans ⚽️
I’ve been to 3 World Cups (2006-2014) and each one was a massive success and sellout crowds, because prices were reasonable and priority given to locals for tickets. Bring to the US and it’s all about greed, corporate money, and maximizing profit. What a miss for FIFA this year, so glad I experienced the tournament during its prime years 🙏🏼
Te odio, Cooling Break. Odio que cortes el partido a los 22 minutos, odio que pares todo para los cortes comerciales, odio tus publicidades, odio tu pausa de hidratación que no sirve para nada. Odio que creas que esto es la NFL. Odio toda tu existencia. Te odio, Cooling Break.
World Cup Diary. Day 3. Kansas City sports bar seemed a good place to ask how much US really into the World Cup? Showing baseball, basketball but also S Korea-Czechia. Locals explained that Americans will really get into World Cup in knockouts, it’s about winning, jeopardy 1/2
The second game of the World Cup was played in front of a swathe of empty seats.
The announced attendance for the South Korea vs Czech Republic match was 44,985 at the 45,664-capacity ground, but patches of red seats were visible throughout.
The affected sections’ ticket prices ranged from $400 (£298) to $5,000 (£3,730).

I don't know who wins the World Cup but all i want is USA getting eliminated from the World Cup in the most humiliating way, preferably by a Muslim nation as well.
