@MDirtysoul@PunishedErik@NuclearSpark Mika Pikazo's art is awesome for vtuber designs and trendycore urban fantasy. It's miserably jarring for a pre-modern fantasy aesthetic.
Not every artist can do every genre with their signature artstyle and Engage is like the perfect example of why.
@TiminJillsson@ronpupu2@strandingevil@foreskinsight@muzzled_canine I wasn't being pedantic, I was being condescending.
My point wasn't that universal healthcare requires raising taxes, it's that universal healthcare is not actually immune to all of the problems we attribute to privatized healthcare. There can still be "cheapest" options.
@konkonxo@SheevTalks The "chance" that pulling his father out of tornado in the fucking Midwest would somehow get him instantly exposed is utterly laughable.
Nobody's keeping watch when running from the tornado, nobody's pulling out an HD camera, and nobody's gonna believe a bunch of hicks.
@Lyonfaced@TheGoomb1 Nah, gay jokes are a time-honored straight guy tradition. Being uncomfortable with them is usually what gets odd looks in a group.
@ClericKnight The real worst combo (outside of like an actual sex offender at the table) is someone who is both a metagaming optimizer and obsessive eloquent snowflake.
Tho the current example at my table has peaked so hard at attention-seeking he's rolled back around to being 100% ignorable.
@ronpupu2@strandingevil@foreskinsight@muzzled_canine This may shock you, but no healthcare is ever "free".
That shit's just paid by taxes, meaning there's budgets behind it, meaning there's inevitable cost-cutting to fit those budgets. To the patients it may seem free, but the entire machine is still financially incentivized.
@vertusdarivenus@MunstaMasta Usazaki is amazing, but if you've ever read her one shots then you'd know her art can't stand by itself without a good writer. Very unfortunately, Act-Age absolutely needed Matsuki to be as good as it was.
@ramuhflare@K1ngZ03@CorneliusG14926 Demon Slayer is carried more by its classic shonen nostalgia, brisk pace, and willingness to end when it needed to end.
The animation is what signal boosted it into the mainstream.
@House_of_A_25@DemonicAthen@houmaster05@Doodle3087 That's literally not even true tho. The Japanese localization is fine, it's just that Japanese fans were already married to the fan translation that took a shitload of liberties and had a negative reaction due to the contrast.
@CaseyDoe8@kamikazecash Most of the elders I've known ended up burning down relationships with their kids or self-isolating to the point where their last years were lost to loneliness and dementia even when the kids and grandkids desperately tried to reconnect.
@draintedak@Unassociat19772 It's fine to feel awkward about realizing you're sexually attracted to your friend, but having an existential crisis over it and prostrating yourself before r/Advice for either public flogging or validation is pretty concerning.
@RipYa3NewOnes@MangaMeathead He's not going to huisheng the guy tho, he wants a brain transplant. Not that the series ain't profoundly stupid and disappointing regardless.
@plyboiilee Like don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed plenty of fluffy romance stories, but ideally the relationship should actually be advancing somewhere or have a nice sweet endpoint if the author can't write engaging relationship progress.
@plyboiilee To me the only real problem is it's been going on for too long. It likely doesn't feel that way in the anime, but the manga has become tiresomely formulaic and the main relationship seems to just retread the same steps over and over again at an agonizing pace.
@feetamongflames@Hieulegen27@shitposts_mp4 The mangaka is like the most obvious pedophile in the industry rn, but also genuinely a captivating artist.
Fucked up, ain't it.
