ProductionReady is a 501(c)(3) public charity advancing open-source Bitcoin development through education and funding for a new conservative Bitcoin client.
We’re excited to officially announce @ProductionReady, a 501(c)(3) public charity established by @Excellion, @jimmysong, @parkeralewis, and @jratcliff to advance open-source Bitcoin development through education and funding for a new conservative Bitcoin client.
What if the biggest risks to Bitcoin aren’t what you think? 🤔
I am super proud of this episode, and it was one I initially shied away from.
I sat down with Bitcoin expert @jimmysong to dig into Bitcoin Core, Knots, and ProductionReady, and what this emerging split in node software could mean for Bitcoin’s future.
We get into the trade-offs, the tensions, and why just running Bitcoin is becoming a more loaded statement than most people realise.
This conversation genuinely changed how I think about the network.

Had the absolute honor of interviewing @jimmysong at the Las Vegas Bitcoin Conference. He’s the teacher who first opened my eyes to how "Fiat Ruins Everything."
Jimmy, along with @Excellion, @parkeralewis, and @jratcliff, is launching @ProductionReady—the 3rd major Bitcoin node software alongside Core and Knots. Client diversity is absolutely crucial for protecting Bitcoin’s decentralization and security.
Fully support this conservative, security-first approach to building on Bitcoin. If you're a dev, they are hiring!
Meet @jimmysong and @jratcliff from #ProductionReady in the Open Source Hub at Bitcoin 2026. Let’s talk about Bitcoin development. Signed books, stickers, and swag are available while supplies last!
@NicolasDorier Recently wallet.dat deletion bug, now this. I would not complain on any other project. But for the most important open source project of our times I want a defensive approach. Putting stability and not-break-things as top priority. Looking forward to @ProductionReady
Basic fact of life is that you reap what you sow.
Sowing good seed is not exciting and the reaping will take a while, but the payoffs are proportional to your planning and low time preference.
Here is my profile of the most vulnerable, which is isomorphic to the (blockchain, nanotech, AGI, fusion) is-just-around-the-corner people:
* rent-seeking upper class
* 105<IQ<120
* knows just enough detail to sound smart
* knows none of the real details
* loves numbers (TPS, qbits, test scores, input/output)
* very little humility
Bitcoin's reliance on a single dominant implementation is a centralization risk hiding in plain sight. @jimmysong makes the case for a third Bitcoin client and why the network's resilience depends on it.
