President George Washington visited the Touro Synagogue in Newport, Rhode Island on August 18, 1790. Built in 1763, the Touro Synagogue is the oldest synagogue building still standing in the US. At that time, various churches, congregations, and religious institutions wrote letters to congratulate the first US president upon his election. Following his visit to the New England synagogue, Washington responded to the Newport Jewish community in a historic letter documenting his expression of religious liberty and freedom in the United States. What I'm about to share, may make a very profound difference-today- for some people out there who are dealing with anxiety.
Let's start by looking at the main physiological sensations of anxiety/panic.
Breathing becomes faster, and from higher up in the chest. Heart rate increases. A slightly nauseating, "hollow" feeling appears in the upper stomach and diaphragm area. You're less aware of the periphery of your vision, and more limited to just noticing what you are looking at. Your hands might become clammy.
Now, you might not have realized that I was actually describing that wonderfully exciting feeling that millions of people line up each year to experience...and even pay for: The exhilarating feelings of being rocketed up and down, and upside down on a bad ass roller coaster.
It just so happens, that this experience also happens to create near IDENTICAL sensations in the human body...as anxiety/panic.
See, it's not the sensations, so much, that are the problem. It's the frame we place AROUND those sensations that creates the result....of excitement....or something we have a more negative level for, like panic.
How do we do that? By creating images INSIDE of our mind, ABOUT those feelings and what they "mean" and saying things to ourselves ABOUT those images and feelings, again, INSIDE our head. That's exactly how we create those frames. WE do it. It doesn't happen "to" us.
What something "means" is what we decide it means. We can take the same set of sensations and decide they are "excitement" in one situation, and decide those same sensations are actually "panic" in another.
I'll be putting out more on this, soon. But, for now...read this all again, and really sit back and think about it...and let it all sink in, and understand this one VERY critical part of how this all works.
It's such a crucial step in the process of setting yourself free from your own mind in this crazy world we live in. I've helped hundreds of people over the years to do that very thing. I LIKE doing that.

Rick Scott voted against funding for Florida to rebuild and recover after Hurricane Ian. Marco Rubio didnโt even bother to show up for the vote. Every Republican member of the House of Representatives from Florida also voted against it. Unbelievable.
