🚨📝Our paper testing the social validity of the CATZ Cross-age Teaching Zone anti-bullying intervention has been accepted for publication in Research Papers in Education! Findings support the wider use of the CATZ intervention in schools @ProfMikeBoulton@DerbyUniPsych
To have that all-important sense of belonging and benefit in all sorts of ways, children only need ONE good #friend. A while ago, we found it was a #protectivefactor against #bullying - https://t.co/mdAfSP1xRT
All #parents should know about #protectivefactor
@Headteacherchat@HTChatEvents A sad reflection of the way the education 'system' fails so many people, adults and children alike. We ALL deserve better. I wish you the very best on your new adventure.
"The move to online learning appears to have affected students’ ability to concentrate and engage in their schoolwork and appears to have reduced their ability to learn and get self-worth from their work. These decreases are associated with a decrease in mental well-being."
Great meeting (Zoom-wise) so many dedicated @INPPLtd practitioners at yesterday's international conference. Agreement that combining support for 'body' (INPP programme) and 'mind' (#AuthenticSelfEsteem Boost programme) will help so many children/young people.
They have a strongly preference for finding out about #bullying issues from CATZ than from teachers and that's likely to be 1 reason why it works in helping them form #antibullying beliefs.
Preparing with @PJRMacaulay and other fantastic collaborators another paper on our #CATZintervention#crossageteachingzoneintervention This one focuses on young people's views of it because too often interventions are thrust on them without asking them what THEY think.
Any plans to lock the double vaccinated out of international travel until they get a booster should be scrapped immediately.
When does it all end? It never will!
Very warm thanks to Peter @PJRMacaulay for huge help in getting our @CATZ @CrossAgeTeachingZone research out there. Children & young people like taking part and benefit in many different ways. More papers to follow with Peter and other fantastic research collaborators
Great start to the week! Our paper 'Promoting Junior School Students’ Anti-Bullying Beliefs with the CATZ Cross-Age Teaching Zone Intervention' has been accepted for publication in International Journal of Bullying Prevention @ProfMikeBoulton@bullyingjournal@DerbyUniPsych

Restoring 'normal service' is in everyone's best interests
New study shows how children benefit from physical activity. Lockdowns stopped a lot of that and kept many indoors/online. Rough-and-tumble play is a great way for younger kids to 'blow off steam', so why did we ban it??

@wef@kejilooz@LEGOfoundation@BoStjerne So why did we get rid of 'PLAYtime'? HUGE mistake.
Some people even thought that PLAY fighting 'made' children more agressive (things are never that simple).
