For some living on the GM border this has resulted in a huge increase in prices to already terrible services @AshleyDalton_MP

@northernassist has confirmed they have now removed advance peak tickets from my station, resulting in daily prices more than doubling @LiveLancs

From Sunday 7 December, on-the-day rail fares in Greater Manchester are getting simpler:

✔️ Just two options – anytime or off-peak
✔️ Single tickets = half the price of returns
✔️ Valid across all operators

This is a key step toward contactless payments and bringing the first rail lines into the #BeeNetwork in Dec 2026... all part of a plan to make our trains, buses, trams and active travel truly connected.

Impossible to encourage a shift to public transit under these conditions!

Good old @northernassist now running daily short formed services (2 instead of 4 carriages) to fiddle on-time numbers

Carnage includes:

- no workable loo on a 2 hour+ service

- not physically being able to board

- squished passengers

The North needs better!
