If the US and Iran keep on hitting the other, can the Peace Agreement hold? Can they move ahead on implementation of critical points? Surely, both sides need restraint, and to avoid frivolous accusations that endanger peace.
@MariamMumtaz@shafqatAmbPak@PakinDubai_@PakinUAE_ Hope to see the Ambassadors optimism become a reality. An effort is needed to remove apprehensions, and build a relationship on goodwill and trust. This can b built on their historic relationship as the Ambassador explained. @uaeembassyisb
@ImtiazGul60 Shocking indeed! The authorities seem
To look the other way, till the violators get their way; they wake up when it’s too late. This has been going on at other places.
@ZardSi Regional countries need some sort of security architecture/framework , defensive in nature, and not religion-based. The recent conflict underlines the need.
@steve_hanke Much bigger events have taken place in the region, and are shaping the regional order. The world was at the precipice of a catastrophe. One can smell peace now. A hardened, devoted fan of a leader can’t ignore the reality.
President Pezeshkian’s visit to Islamabad reiterated the trust reposed in Pakistan in leading the diplomatic effort that led to a peace agreement with US. Pakistan and Iran need to deepen ties in other sectors that help build peace in the region. @IraninIslamabad
@0TulsiGabbard2 In the current times, there is no role for an exiled monarchs son to make a comeback, in a drastically changed socio political setting. It’s time for Rez’a Pehlavi to resign to the reality. There is much to b done as the scion of a former monarch. @FareedZakaria
Pakistan is in well deserved limelight as the US and Iran agree to the framework of a peace agreement. This would benefit the region, and the world in many ways. Pakistans persuasive diplomacy deserves credit, alongside Qatars. More work lies ahead.@ForeignOfficePk@qataremb_isb
@KenRoth It is clear the both Israel and Hezbollah are keen to thwart a peace settlement in the region, and they continue to fight despite a ceasefire. They should not succeed!
The world has its eyes fixed on the negotiations at the Swiss resort. War of words should not become a hurdle between the 2 sides . It has been a very long way to this stage. This oppor should not b missed. Let peace find its way at the talks; there is much at stake. @KenRoth
@KenRoth Unfortunately, the war has created need for more weapons, a fallout of the recent conflict. This necessarily creates a Security Dilemma, and diverts funds from human security needs.
@SamDalrymple123@DalrympleWill These tiles, and their artistry is a treasure in the old mausoleums, spread across the subcontinent. There need to b a bigger effort to preserve this heritage.
US-Iran technical talks offer a new set of challenges to both sides. This round could b frustrating as well, and calls for understanding of the others position, and overcoming the past. Now I’s the real test, and time to look at the big picture, sustainable peace.
@ashoswai Reasons for all three, for not appreciating Pakistan s role in the Peace Deal are clear. One did not want peace; other did not like Pakistan in a lead role; another needs time to understand.
@kakar_harsha@CMShehbaz@OfficialDGISPR Nonsense or whatever, time to wake up to reality. Pakistan has been a persistent force behind this diplomatic feat that ended the conflict in the Gulf. For now, India, and the Indians can only watch, and comment. They might get an opportunity in the future. Tchh. @SouthAsiaIndex
Signing of the Islamabad MOU by the US and Iranian Presidents, and Pakistan PM as guarantor is indeed history making, and a giant step between two sworn adversaries. A step toward peace, and regional stability. A lesson that Peace prevails over conflict. @StateDept@Iran
Long delayed, long awaited US-Iran deal is good news for the whole world. The two could now shun brinkmanship; the deal comes step by step, and both need to make it work, and not let extraneous factors, and pride derail the deal. @gulf_news@cnni
