It is great to be back at the @Materials_MRS#f21MRS meeting and to share the results from the University of Vermont Device Physics Lab. Nice work Ekraj, David, and Robin!
Thanks to Kirsty McGhee of @PhysicsWorld for an excellent report on our work!

Our newest work on controlling the photonic band structure in metal-dielectric photonic crystal OLEDs was published today. Congrats to David Allemeier on his first paper and many thanks to the whole team and @NSF for support. Very proud of this work! https://t.co/FdIzJOBjgr
Congratulations to Ekraj Dahal on his first 1st-author publication! Thanks to Karen (@KarenCianciulli), Ben, and David for all their hard work too! Very proud of this work and hope it serves as a building block for great research to come.

Had to admire the fascinating geology of our beautiful city on my beach walk today! Vermont is known for slate, marble, and granite. Geology is central to where we live, who we are, and what we do. It is core to @uvmvermont's land grant mission.

@IkedaKyle I tell all my advisees that the languages are by far the most valuable courses I've taken. I took Spanish, Italian, and German at @UW, and of course, Japanese at @uvmvermont with the wonderful @IkedaKyle
Some uplifting news! My downstairs neighbor in Linz was an outgoing man who loved to practice English. He was just released after recovering from the coronavirus. He was a youthful 94 when I knew him and he'll be celebrating his 100th on Sunday!

After remote class, I finished the workday at the beach. Reading and editing in the hammock while the kids played in the sand. Have to get out of the basement every once in a while!
Couldn't be prouder of our students for adhering to covid rules. And of our staff for their educational engagement with the students, and of our community for their support. We're not done yet - let's stay vigilant and see the fall through.
