@bradsferguson Google is also using that money to bring street shitters into the United States and are hellbent on destroying the country.
Fuck Google.
Bloomberg is full of communists.
These aren't families, they're grifters who overstayed their welcome. H1-B was never about a path to permancy.
Fuck these street shitters and fuck the builders who profited off them and their cheap, imported labor.
Companies are going to have to pay a livable, American wage to Americans. Americans are qualified to do the work, just not at the low wage corporations want to offer.
Bloomberg reports a stark reversal in North Texas: the H-1B-fueled housing boom that turned Dallas suburbs like Frisco and Prosper into “Dallaspuram” is collapsing.
For years, Indian software engineers on H-1B visas powered a luxury-home surge …buying up to 70% of new builds, snapping up $800k+ houses with puja rooms and spice kitchens. Collin County’s Indian population exploded. Builders couldn’t keep up.
Now? That pipeline has slammed shut.
The Trump administration’s new $100,000 “expedited review” fee for overseas H-1B petitions, combined with stricter wage rules, AI-driven tech layoffs, and state-level crackdowns in Texas, has sent Indian buyers fleeing. One builder saw Indian sales drop from 70% to under 30%. Luxury inventory is piling up. Home prices in key suburbs fell nearly 9% year-over-year in February.
Families who transformed the region are now facing exile:
homes underwater, foreclosures looming, some returning to India after sudden job losses.
One realtor called it a “bloodbath” for the high-end market.
The human cost is brutal …skilled professionals who helped build the boom now watching it evaporate.
Bloomberg asks: Is the H-1B crackdown protecting American jobs… or hollowing out the very growth it once created?

HR contains no humans. Those are shrink wrapped in the resources closet. If you need another human, you pull one out, unwrap them, install batteries and they're good to go.
The numbers need to be recalculated with HR removed. I think you'll find that a much smaller percentage of people have been laid off.
@Enderle Hey, Rob!
I don't know if you remember me. We had a few exchanges a decade or more ago. I used to like your articles even though I thought of you as a Windows/Microsoft guy. When I listen to No Agenda, I think about you sometimes because I seem to remember you were on Cranky Geeks or X3.
Here's an interesting question: if the potential employees are paying this much, why do they need to come to America and take American jobs? Surely they can afford to live as kings.
And if American employees are paying this money, they have enough money to pay Americans an American wage.
Trump should have made the fee $1,000,000 per new entrant if he cared about curbing street shitters stealing American jobs.
AI-WASHING OR REALITY?
We have tracked over 110,000 people laid off where the company blames AI so far in 2026.
I would say META and ORACLE laying off to invest billions in AI capex is AI-related but not as much due to AI efficiencies. Yet.
Tip of the iceberg moments.
NVIDIA, the chip maker that is powering most of the AI world currently, went hog wild in today's Sunday print edition of the Mercury News in the Bay Area with 42 different PERM market tests for tech jobs. They do this to get green cards for the "temporary" foreign workers.
Don't let them succeed. Apply by emailing your resume to [email protected], clearly stating the job title and code (e.g., “ASIC Engineer (ASICDE640)”) in the subject line or body.
Thread has all all the jobs pulled out, with their respective salaries.
