It is becoming questionable whether elections are free anymore. We will see with the midterms just how corrupt this has become. You have left‑leaning judges even striking down basic fundamentals, such as the requirement that someone must be a citizen to vote. I lived in London and Tokyo as well as Hong Kong, Sydney, Thailand, and Switzerland. Never was I allowed to vote in their elections just because I lived there for a while.

I don't want to dogpile here.

But it touches a very raw nerve for most of us.

Most of us wanted nothing more than to get a good job. That's why we went to college.

When we graduated, we found HR longhouse rituals and nakedly slanted hiring preferences. If we got an interview at all, it was for the mulework that needed to get done as cheaply as possible. We saw young woman get promoted every 15 months to supervise men with triple their experience. We saw token hiring fill the top jobs. We saw 'programs' and 'workshops' for identity groups to network and help each other.

If we wanted to sidestep office life, we would find that construction and restaurant work are slanted towards being illegal, speaking spanish, and for wages we could not afford to accept. We were not getting foodstamps or cash benefits from the government because we were not committing welfare fraud. We were not able to get auto insurance or car notes with the same laxity. How humiliating would it be to be a mid 20s college grad who has to go swing a hammer - if he could find a site supervisor who would even let that happen?

And yet, all we get from GOP types is 'put down the video games and go to work' - and they don't actually name the real abusers of welfare (or they didn't until Nick Shirley). All we get from GOP types is mild contempt or outright hate for the position they've put us in.

This comment made by Mrs. Leavitt suggests she thinks she's working for the Romney administration.

It is poor messaging. All it does is push young MAGA zoomers into the arms of DSA types who tell them the system is corrupt.
