@dilanesper I get your point. The NFL wildly overreacted to Kaepernick, he was still good enough to play, and what happened to him wasn’t fair. I agree with that. But I also agree that he brought a declining set of skills and a lot of unwanted attention and that turned teams off.

@dilanesper Part of the reason it received so much attention was because the league really handled it very poorly, but that’s an entirely different discussion.

@dilanesper Sure, but he was a distraction that pulled attention away from the team (and may have caused issues in the locker room) and coaches HATE that.

@theramblingfool Yeah. If you’re going to indict an ex-president, you need a rock solid, open and shut case. I’m worried that’s not the situation here.

@dilanesper Don’t you also think it’s possible that the team went 2-14 that year in part because of the distraction? I don’t have a problem at all with the kneeling because I’m fan and I strongly believe in free expression, but I am also guessing it was a pretty big annoyance to the coach.

@dilanesper I do think if a team wanted to take a flier in him, no one would have stood in its way. I don’t necessarily think all teams made the right calculus with him, but I understand the reasoning. Teams really don’t like distractions.
