Such an inspiration to meet and to have support of one of the top minds in the world, Prof. @SVermund an internationally renowned public health expert, at the Yale University campus.
He is the Anna M.R. Lauder Professor of Public Health, and former Dean (2017-2022) of the Yale School of Public Health and also a Professor at the Yale University School of Medicine.
We're thrilled to welcome Dr. Douglas Anthony, a true luminary in the life science research and academia, to the Prognica Labs Advisory Board!
Dr. Anthony is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and Professor of Neurology, at the Warren Alpert Medicine School at Brown University. He is board-certified in anatomic pathology and neuropathology, and studies the cellular and molecular basis of disorders that affect the nervous system. His work has been funded by the NIH, NSF, and private foundations, and he has served as a consultant to the National Institutes of Health, Environmental Protection Agency, National Board of Medical Examiners, U.S. Department of Justice, and a number of universities and foundations.
His appointment marks a significant step in our commitment to innovation and excellence in technology and life science, and taking a UAE based company to a global level.
I am a Scientific Advisory Committee member and a Keynote Speaker at MoSICom-2023 conference.
BITS Pilani Dubai with IEEE is bringing together students, researchers, academia, and industry practitioners to showcase and exchange their latest advances in modelling, simulation, and intelligent computing in Electrical, Electronics and Computer Engineering.

Day 1 - Business at Padua, Italy 🇮🇹
So impressed and inspired to meet Dr Gino Gerosa and present him my book, at Le Village
As the Historian of Science Herbert Butterfield adequately put (in The Origin of Modern Science, 1962), the History of Sciences in general and of Medicine in particular owes a lot to Padua and its long-standing university.
It was great discussing about the Future of Healthtech at @GITEX_GLOBAL along side with Robin Joffe, Louiza Chitour (PhD) & Bhuvan Srinivasan
Thanks to Prashant K. (PK) Gulati for having me.
Sharing my experiences while raising funds at @PrognicaLabs
The global the AI in Healthcare market is driven by the ability of AI to improve patient outcomes, increase in need for coordination between healthcare workforce and patients, rise in adoption of precision medicine, and remarkable growth in venture capital investments.
Most of the AI applications in healthcare are yet to prove their results and that they can improve business profitability to deliver returns for investors.
Cryoablation - Freezing Breast Cancer Cells to Help Avoid Surgery
Cryoablation therapy, typically done on an outpatient basis, takes less than an hour. Cryoablation could be an alternative to surgical excision of breast cancer. There are several advantages to be gained from ablation performed at very low temperatures and these include the method’s simplicity, lack of pain, low morbidity, cost-effectiveness, and potential for positive cryo-immunologic effects.
The procedure uses extreme cold - averaging minus 150 degrees Celsius, or 238 degrees below zero Fahrenheit - to destroy cancer cells and close off the blood vessels that feed them. CT or ultrasound guidance is used to precisely place a tiny probe for treatment, using only local anesthesia as needed. Liquid nitrogen is introduced through the probe, forming an ice ball around the tumor and killing the cancer. Cryoablation is considered less likely to cause damage to surrounding breast tissue and skin.
Treating breast cancer with the combination of cryoablation and immune checkpoint inhibition is an appealing strategy owing to the synergistic mechanisms of these therapies. Cryoablation enhances tumor immunogenicity, which may facilitate response to immunotherapy, while immune checkpoint blockade may allow the body to mount a robust response to tumor-specific antigens released by cryoablation.

It was such a rejuvenating and also informative to visit Emirates Camel Center in Umm Al Quwain and to learn about Camel Embryo Transfer, Camel Infertility, its Health and Management
The reproductive efficiency of camels under their natural pastoral conditions is low partly due to their late age of reaching puberty, the short breeding season and a long gestation period of 13 months. The techniques of embryo transfer and artificial insemination however, provide the opportunity to produce more of the genetically superior animals, but they do pose certain challenges.
Female camels only give birth to one baby every two years, which covers the gestation period of 13 months and breast-feeding for a year, as camels cannot be weaned as quickly as cows.
