@neetu_arnold I suggest more lower stakes tests that teachers can use the data to inform practice instead of one large test at the end of the year or a semester. I also advocate for year round school and teachers being a twelve month position.

@neetu_arnold Ok cool. Accountbilty for who because tests right now are designed for only holding the teacher accountable. Students have zero skin the game. NCLB and RTTT made it nearly impossible without parent permission to hold a student back on grades. Many states have let go of attendance

We need to place the blame on the systems forcing the adoption of poorly researched claims. Teachers were forced to adopt Whole Language Learning, many knowing it was not effective. Teachers did not toss out textbooks for Chromebooks; the systems did.

Teachers are particularly vulnerable to bogus research claims because "research shows" (sorry @rastokke !) that they don't actually read much research themselves and get most of their info second hand.
