Dr Robby Sikka tells us Eric Cressey is the “best. Dr Sikka tells us on his home page that integrity., compassion, curiosity and knowledge are driving forces in his life. Dr Sikka omitted the key word that seems to be key to all these people overseeing our young men…..cash
We have an epidemic of baseball pitching injuries. They all start with how baseball pitchers stand on the mound. I understand Dr Sikka may not be a kinesiologist, but if he opens a textbook he’ll find that knees are hinge joints. That means the knee can’t bend sideways without injury. Eric Cressey has no problem with forcing pitchers to stride sideways from pitching mounds when the simple solution is to turn feet 90° and engage the most powerful muscle available to baseball pitchers.
So my question is. Why do you glorify someone who is profiting so handsomely from the abuse of boy?
Please keep your 7 yr old in mind when answering. The internet is forever. Thanks.

@77WABCradio@throwleather Ballsy move.
Now do the @Rangers have the balls to help out neutered young straight men and turn a foot or three 90° on the rubber.? Do the Rangers want to support increased velocity over fewer injuries and piss off Meister the Shyster?
Faith and Family and all
@nelson__espinal@DodgersNation back of vertical elbow faces the plate = Lat on fire
Not done correctly but this is what’s coming to baseball.
The guys that learn to do it correctly will reap the rewards.
If pitchers weren’t forced to stride sideways we’d easily eliminate at least half of baseball pitching injuries.
But Mr Stock, currently on the IL, is concerned about turning baseball into softball.
Safety base would require like one spring training for players to adjust, and a handful of “whoopsies” moments during regular season for a year or two.
The tradeoff would be a massive reduction in this type of injury for the rest of baseball history, and hopefully also tackle the “running in the baseline” calls that umpires are forced to make.
I agree
When baseball pitching gurus don’t know how to account for Newton’s 3 Laws of Pitching the tools they use to evaluate pitchers is the classic ‘garbage in, garbage out’.
Force plate metrics come to mind.
One of the biggest mistakes we see in performance training is celebrating a better metric without asking whether it actually improved performance.
Force plates are powerful tools. They help us quantify how an athlete produces, transfers, and applies force. But force production alone is not the goal. Performance is.
An increase in vertical force, propulsive force, or rate of force development may look impressive on a report. The real question is whether that change improved the athlete’s ability to organize movement, create efficient ball flight, and execute pitches at a higher level.
This is why single metrics should never be interpreted in isolation.
Force plate outputs must be viewed alongside strategy-based metrics that help explain how the athlete is creating those outputs. Are they improving force application while maintaining movement efficiency? Has the change altered timing or sequencing? Did pitch characteristics improve? Did command improve? Did velocity improve? Did workload tolerance improve?
The athlete who jumps higher on a force plate is not automatically a better pitcher.
The objective is not to maximize a number. The objective is to improve the entire system.
At Premier Pitching & Performance, force plate testing is one piece of a comprehensive assessment process that combines movement quality, biomechanics, ball flight, and strength & power data to determine whether a training intervention is producing meaningful transfer to the mound.
Because better testing doesn’t matter unless it leads to better performance.

Brent, the world traveler Pourciau tells us:
“He didn’t pick up a baseball until he was 15. He never played travel ball. He never went to a showcase.”
Dr Mike Marshall me if he had his druthers he wouldn’t let boys start pitching until they were 19yo.
Anyway now we know why Randy Sullivan trots out his foreign tool, Dutchland’s Fransy Bosch when he feels the dads of #BBTrumpland can handle a bastardized version of what I teach.
The dads of #BBTrumpland have been trained to abhor American science.
He didn’t pick up a baseball until he was 15. He never played travel ball. He never went to a showcase.
And he made the MLB anyway. 👇🇪🇺🇺🇸
Meanwhile, your 6-year-old is already “specialized,” already on a travel team, already costing you thousands.
Here’s the part that should make every American baseball parent stop scrolling:
🇪🇺 In Europe, baseball is a fringe sport. Kids grow up playing soccer, handball, track — everything. Many don’t touch a baseball until their teens. There’s no travel-ball industry. No showcase circuit. No $600 bats.
They’re found at FREE, federation-run development camps — and coached on fundamentals, not sold rankings.
And the results?
📊 In just 10 years, 77 players from 14 European countries signed pro contracts in the U.S. — most of them late starters who never played a single travel-ball season.
Current MLB players were raised in Germany and the Netherlands — countries where baseball barely exists — and reached the majors with none of the American machine.
Read that again.
This isn’t about Europe having more talent. It’s the same truth the Dominican Republic and Japan already proved:
❌ Talent doesn’t need a $10,000 system to find its way out.
We’ve been sold a lie — that earlier, more expensive, and more specialized equals better. It doesn’t.
It’s not WHEN your kid starts. It’s HOW he develops. 🔥

@MattyCleve5@jdl44643 In the past if you did not perform your scholarship was pulled. And you were screwed.
Everyone is free to leave their place of employment. The great companies manage to build cultures that last. Great teams can and will do that.
When it feels strong it’s usually wrong.
Fascia is connective tissue that surrounds joints for additional support. Fascia has no contractile properties.
Using the rhomboids in the manner described, pitching gurus call Scapula Loading. Scapula Loading can tear the anterior Labrum and definitely causes Forearm Flyout.
If the young man is like 99.9% of pitchers who scapula load he will involuntarily move his pitching upper arm behind his Acromial line.
Lengthening glenohumeral ligaments is not a good idea.

Kudos to @TheMayorsOffice
I’m not even from Pittsburgh and it bothers me that the head ball coach from Pitt recruits Floridians to compete.
Frank Gorka (sp?) was the internet’s first batting guru. A good friend of mine used to call me and tell me his son was getting batting lessons from G with Sean Casey in the next cage.
My friend’s son was a good pitcher. Leyland pulled him aside after a summer ballgame and complimented him on his pitching
His nitwit college PC gave his pitchers 4 Advil before every game. He was a relief pitcher.
Anyway, I was heading to Zephyrhills one morning and called my friend to see if he wanted me to run anything by Dr Marshall. He told me an MLB team had called him the night before and informed him they planned on drafting his son. He had to tell the guy that his son just blew out his arm.
Kids in Pittsburgh will do the work. Alas, the Sean. Casey’s of Pittsburgh won’t tell dads that listening to EricCressey, Randy Sullivan, Brewster and Tom House, etc is fool’s gold.
After years of diligently doing Long Toss, weighted balls, pulling on bands, Cleans and squats, the young men in Pittsburgh will wonder why the head ball coach from Pitt has to go out of state to get his cannon fodder.
As for my friend’s son, he went the PRP, TJS route.
So Pittsburgh

@LenMacPT I’m confused. We’ve had the cause and solution to rupturing the Ulnar Collateral Ligament since 1975.
AND the cash from the hapless dads of #BBTrumpland keeps rolling in.
I hope @PedroMartinez45 lent Brayan Bello his wrist weights.
Pedro’s doctor met with one of my fellow Marshallites shortly after we got certified.
1. You see the ‘Marshall’ influence. Having the forearm reach shoulder height at the same time the upper arm reaches shoulder height should eliminate rupturing the Ulnar Collateral Ligament. It WILL NOT, alas, keep him from Meister the Shyster unless he starts winding up a little better. Surgeons have upped their game. The palm cannot face down at any point during the Transition phase.
2. When pitchers start wrong….it ends badly. Pedro should have addressed this.
3. When pitchers start wrong….it ends badly. And here is how it ends. Mr Bello has to learn how to apply straight line force. Angular force reduces consistency, velocity and is injurious.
I assume Pedro did the right thing and told Mr Bello to stay away from PTBoddy. Far far away.
Gl
@PhysioAcademia7 Total nonsense.
The muscle arising from the medial Epicondyle move the ulna bone tightly against the humerus bone when parents decide to have their boys taught to pitch correctly. The Ulnar Collateral Ligament receives zero stress.
This info has been available since 1975
Classic ‘Marshall’ pitching strategy
Start with your best pitcher. Follow that pitcher with you next best available pitcher (usually a starter) and so on.
My experience is that pitchers have different mindsets between starting and relieving.
If the @Mariners want to stop their obsession with the mentals and give skill a shot, they should implement this throughout their minor league system.
@tangotiger Nihil Novi sub Sole
If pitchers didn’t get paid when they got hurt these injuries would be a distant memory.
Get 4 determined mothers together and these injuries get eliminated quam celerrime.
