Meet us in Prague tomorrow to advance the network state
Tomorrow, and until May 12th, we will be in Prague to present @tftcxyz solutions and vision during the FinTech week.
Specifically, Caroline Poli will explore:
▶️ The interconnectedness between network state, autonomous finance and FinTech - with our partner @stancel_david - during UnBundled and
▶️ How digital economic zones advance the network state vision - during @EthPrague
Please get in touch if you would like to engage on such topics.

The hardest startup you could ever build is a city.
In my latest podcast I sat down with Patri Friedman (@patrissimo) to talk about what it takes to build a city from scratch. As he gears up to launch a brand new online course for aspiring city founders, we discussed the biggest bottlenecks to making a city successful and the most common mistake many founders make in the process.

“It’s very easy to get sucked into the performing of ‘I’m going to start my own country’… and not the doing.”
Time to stop LARPing. Start building.
@patrissimo explains why this might be the real bottleneck...

Just discovered an academic paper on the Romer experience in Madagascar, where the Daewoo deal was one element that caused riots and eventually a coup. The new admin immediately nixed the deal:

During my 25 years working on new governance models, the main bottleneck has been finding the incredible founders we need to build something as epic as a charter city.
The space is ripe & ready for new companies, and we're assembling an amazing collection of OGs to advise a fascinating collection of new founders at this @Prosperahn event.
If you're serious about exploring a concept in the space, please apply! And feel free to DM me to highlight anything about your app: https://t.co/NWYYWlI0Z0
New Research Raper 🚨
What if choosing your residency or place of business worked like ordering dinner from a delivery app?
Scroll menu. Compare jurisdictions. Incorporate. Track automated delivery.
I spent the last year researching movements that would allow this: special jurisdictions, charter cities, network states. The catalyst? Realizing Bitcoin answers how to PRESERVE wealth, not how to BUILD it.
That requires better rules.
This paper is my contribution to the conversation.
I'm a policy advisor working at the intersection of blockchain, emerging tech, and regulation. Years on Capitol Hill advocating for blockchain policy. Now exploring how special jurisdictions fit into the Freedom Technology toolkit.
I conduct a comparative analysis of the practical implementation of an e-governance marketplace model that connects multiple Digital Free Zones through a single interface, allowing global talent to select the jurisdiction that fits them best. Early-stage case study on @tftcxyz.
If you're building in this space (network states, digital free zones, competitive governance), I want to connect.

DMs open, I'm friendly

Super excited for @PronomosVC to be bringing city founders together for the first time on 3/28 @Prosperahn.
Creating new societies able to rapidly innovate their regulatory stack is incredibly important & equally hard: which means sharing knowledge both between prospective founders, and those who have been in the trenches is an essential ingredient for success.
This is an invite/application-based event, and while others are on the decision committee, what I'm personally looking for is the two archetypes I believe are most likely to succeed:
1) Founders of new communities (ideally with legal autonomy, but not required) with significant traction relative to their age - whether that's govt deals, key partners, paying users, etc.
2) Badass entrepreneurs like @bradfordcross with the track record to show they'd be a huge asset to the movement, who are intrigued by this new space but need to learn more before diving in.
The application will pop up when you register on luma (https://t.co/NWYYWlI0Z0); please spread the word & DM me if you'd like to endorse an applicant. Also be sure to check out the more public event 3/26-27: https://t.co/5RtPgs0oVr
"Is it 0% colonialism? No."
@patrissimo from @PronomosVC returns for our second podcast.
He tells it straight - from the reality of @nayibbukele’s reforms in El Salvador to the friction between wealthy digital nomads and locals.
There is no one in the space who speaks to more founders actually building the cities of the future.

Walt Disney pitched EPCOT as a 20,000-resident private city on roughly 40 square miles, with private governance plus its own taxing and bond authority.
Disney World now supports about 263,000 Florida jobs, but the original EPCOT plan was bigger than tourism. It was a U.S. SEZ experiment years before Shenzhen or JAFZA launched.

The legend @patrissimo locked in for 150mins discussing network & city states with me.
There are very few people that have worked for as long and as hard as Patri in this space - this discussion highlights what's happening and what matters in this important world.

Honored to have been included in all 4 @ns conferences; this year I spoke about the need to focus on the user (not the vision) and build things that people want.

"So what's happening with the government in Honduras?"
I get that question all the time, here is the answer - and the legal basis for it by @arturozacapa
On the ground, nobody left - we've been growing in new residents, companies incorporated etc.
