@CryptoCobain Yeah, but you don't have an exact physical copy of those canvas paintings - everyone knows Monet was a master of working with carbon and hydrogen atoms.
@AriDavidPaul@RossBlankenship That's deterministic, it could have gone and stayed up and then you would have had less BTC from selling at $19k. And you're also presuming you didn't buy back until the exact bottom. Sure, risk metrics support taking profit but your example suggests ability to see the future.
@actvtdPrgrssv@DOGFACE141@SteveMatthews12@TheStalwart@business@ctorresreporter@economics Fed Chair is a civil service job - should we start paying fire chiefs on how many fires happen in their city? Capitalism doesn't need to be turned up to 11 on everything. Also, some times the business cycle needs a bear market, we're in this mess because of up-only mentality.
@RealNatashaChe This is an interesting argument that people investing in crypto will decrease wealthy people parking their wealth in second homes, thus driving down home prices. But maybe crypto gains start pouring into the housing market?
@RealNatashaChe Money is ultimately a marker of debt, and if the rich have too much money the poor will consider declaring "defaulting" on the money aka IOUs held by the rich.
@JeffSnider_AIP I don't see how anyone can say the economy is doing well when QE is taking place (regardless of what QE really does). It's like saying I'm a good bowler with the bumper rails.
@CascadianViews@justfisk1 @CryptoJerkstore @mikealfred@MR3402 There's a difference between working capital and savings. Even Michael Saylor says $ is best for working capital. Also fair chance US eliminates cash once it issues a CDBC. But again you are not answering my question about what to invest in - are you saying just dollars?
@CascadianViews@justfisk1 @CryptoJerkstore @mikealfred@MR3402 I actually welcome crypto regulation, but my question wasn't about banks stealing dollars, rather about dollars losing purchasing power. Even Ray Dalio who thinks governments will ban Bitcoin says that cash is trash. What to invest in is the question.
@CascadianViews@justfisk1 @CryptoJerkstore @mikealfred@MR3402 What other consumer protections are there against US monetary policy? Bonds have negative real rates, stocks are in a bubble, what should I invest in if I can't afford a second house? Genuinely curious how normal people are investing...
