@PackyBrennan@GameOverThirty@Shp_Mastr445 Respectfully disagree. Theres more innovation in gaming now than there’s been in a large part of its history - just not in AAA games. Even that will come rip roaring back - once devs can figure out how to better leverage new and existing tools.See: Expedition 33, and others
@RadicalFishGame I want to be blind going in - can’t wait! Also, unless you need gameplay feedback, also find a way to allow your fans to support you and buy the game or some other early adopter package - if people love your demo but have no way to buy the game, maybe it’s too early for demo!
@GameOverThirty Saw some analysis recently about coding specifically that said (so far) AI is great at improving productivity of low skill code but once mid-skill or higher is applied, productivity gets WORSE with AI, as developers spend extra time debugging code they didn’t write or understand
@teslatidbits@HoegLaw Your analysis makes too generous of assumptions. First, average sub price is MUCH lower than $12. $12 is MARP USD pricing. $5-$8 is more likely when you consider intl pricing and promotions. Next, factor in the payout to devs. Also, include operating costs and taxes on profits.
@BlakeAshby1 @AshBaloghNM @scool891@StephanieKelton If I understand correctly, MMT would believe the $200M only causes inflation when those workers and resources for the bridge are in demand from other builders. If they were sitting around and being unused, then no labor or resources are “lost”. 🤷🏻♂️
@SSGSentinel@SuperDarklightZ@zuppa_zone@SynthPotato According to take-two’s own info, GTA v has generated about $10B since inception (10+ years). Each year Fortnite makes between $3.5B and $5B+, according to reports, around the same as Roblox. Fortnite is bigger than GTA, tho most gaming press & gamers prefer to write about GTA
@polianatchaikov@damechatprrr@dieworkwear Any recommendations on where to get shirts/basics these days? Would love to find basics that are good shapes again. Thanks!
@dampedspring Hi Andy, have you written up anything on how/why now is the time to buy? With all the thrash happening at the moment, yours is the most reasonable voice
@GameOverThirty I think the correct business answer is usually “fast follow sequel”. When games do the pure standalone they often don’t do quite enough to drive new fans to the game; they’re often a <$40 game. I’m not sure the margins are there for those vs spending an extra year and go sequel
