One thing my friends who landed jobs even before we graduated did differently was “bombing.”

What do I mean by bombing? Some of them in my hostel in UI would use ChatGPT to find startups and the email addresses of the CEOs (not HR) of companies they were interested in. Then they would send cold emails and explain how they could add value to their companies. They would write 10 mails to different CEOs in a day😂, and they did that almost every night inside Kuti Hall reading room.

Three of them got jobs at a big cybersecurity firm in Lagos with this method before we even graduated. I also know 2 of them who joined Moniepoint remotely using the exact same method.

People still use bombing to land jobs. It works like mad.

learn to go where wealthy people go. you don’t have to spend like them, you just have to stop feeling like you don’t belong there.

i remember when i couldn’t afford the lifestyle i wanted yet.

every friday evening, i’d walk into a high end hotel lobby, order one coffee, sit in the same corner and open my laptop like i belonged there. nobody knew i was going back to a small brokie apartment after 😂 all they saw was someone comfortable in that environment. week after week, something changed.

i stopped feeling like an outsider. i studied how people spoke, how they carried themselves, how deals were discussed and how confidence looked in real life.

one night, a man approached me cos he assumed i was a regular. that conversation opened a door to an opportunity i wasn’t qualified for on paper but i carried myself like i was. do you know that months later, my reality caught up with that environment i had been exposing myself to. nothing magical happened. i simply stopped seeing that world as theirs and started seeing it as a place i belonged too

i will repeat this again;

if you spend all day at a fish market, you’ll leave smelling like fish even if you never touched one but spend your day in a perfume shop and you’ll carry the scent even if you didn’t buy anything, that’s how environment works. it rubs off, whether you realize it or not. the scent of your environment will always follow you.

wealth starts with familiarity before it starts with money. your mind has to accept a reality before ur life can build it. learn something, buena suerte.

Many of you really don’t understand this love language or a thing.

You think it’s all about what people can do for you to show you that they love you?

No.

Your love language describes how you naturally feel and express love.

If your love language is Acts of Service, you feel loved when someone helps you, and you also tend to show love by helping them.

If it’s Words of Affirmation, you value hearing kind words, and you often encourage the people you love.

If it’s Quality Time, you enjoy spending meaningful time together, and you also make time for them.

The problem starts when someone only focuses on what they receive while ignoring what they give.

A strong relationship is not built on keeping score. It grows when both people learn to express love in ways the other person understands, while also appreciating how they naturally receive love.

So, love language is not just about what a person can do for you. It is also about how you choose to love them. Both matter.

If you say your love language is to receive gifts from your lover but you don’t gift back generously, you’re a thief and not in love. 🤷‍♂️

One of my former neighbours lived the simplest life in our compound.

One pair of trousers, a few shirts, no car, no loud friends, nothing flashy.

We all assumed he was the poorest person in the compound.

Whenever I cooked, I'd sometimes take food to him. If I had extra cash, I'd tip him too. I genuinely felt he needed it.

One evening, we were all outside gisting when he walked over and casually said,

"I'm moving out tomorrow. I'm done with my house."

😂 We thought he was pulling our legs again.

Until he invited us for the housewarming.

The biggest shock came from the Yahoo guy in the compound who used to blast music every night and run his generator from 4pm till the next morning.

He didn't switch on his generator for almost a week...

When he finally came outside to gist, he just said,

"I've been dashing that man money. He don build house keh."

@CRawkeen I was once referred to an interview, i came late. Others were fired strong question but me, they were just whining me and we were gisting. I go the job alongside 2 others. 15others didnt make it. Its all by connection.
This happened about 7yrs ago

Its been 1wk now, we havent spoken and i dont intend to retain him as my friend anymore

Last week, he had a fight with a female neighbour cus he owed her 3k. I was separating fight when this guy pushed me and slapped this girl really hard. I quietly walked away from the scene while he continued hitting her.
He was later arrested and....

I went to court but court was delaying, he knew the law so he enjoyed the show.
I got a tip off that i could throw his things out lawfully if only i had a video of him moving one of his properties out of the room.

Court case dismissed because "He willingly moved his item out of the house and there is evidence".
This happened 2 days ago
