THEY JUMPED OFF A MALL BALCONY ONTO A TRAMPOLINE

Shopping centre atrium, shoppers lining every level, a trampoline set up on the ground floor. People go off the upper railing one after another, and it ends with them hugging
the business read is in the venue, not the jump:
→ a mall atrium is private property with security, insurance and a liability position. none of that permits this
→ so the shot exists only because it was generated. no operator would ever authorise it, at any price
→ the setting is instantly legible worldwide. atriums look the same in every country, which removes all localisation cost
→ the crowd is the production value, and crowds are the single most expensive thing to organise physically
→ and the hug at the end converts a stunt into a story about people, which is what makes it shareable rather than just watchable
what this represents commercially is a category of imagery that was previously unbuyable. not expensive, unbuyable. no budget unlocks a mall willing to host this
that matters because the value of a location to a brand was partly its exclusivity. access was the moat. venues charged for it, agencies brokered it, and the resulting footage signalled that somebody had the standing to get in
generated footage does not need the standing. the atrium, the crowd, the permission all arrive together at the price of inference
which leaves venue owners in an odd position. their space appears in content they did not approve, promoting nothing they agreed to, and the only recourse is a takedown after the fact
the ones thinking ahead are already registering their interiors as protected trade dress. most have not noticed yet
if you want to see how cheap unbuyable access became, image-to-video off one still is the shortest way in. @Picsart does it from a phone
no mall would ever allow this. that is precisely why it exists
What the fuck? Is this the new Coca-Cola x Mentos commercial?
Somebody just used a helicopter to drop an enormous Mentos into a giant bottle of Coke.
The result is exactly what you’d expect, only big enough to reach the people who thought this was a good idea.
Under slightly different circumstances, this could have earned someone a Darwin Award nomination.
The internet supplied the idea. @Picsart approved the budget.
