@CooperJoslin1@harpig051256766@footballzebras Usually I'd say no way, but last year there were guys who did both a CCG and the Super Bowl, so maybe this is yet another deviation from the normal and he'll get the Super Bowl without doing a Divisional?
Wow ABC/ESPN got a huge steal with both Panthers/Bucs and Seahawks/49ers on Saturday. I'm surprised they got two massive games.
I'm sure they'll get a 4/5 game for their wild card game and that looks like it'll be pretty weak this year, maybe the NFL is trying to atone for that?
@ChadJBoudreau@MustacheDLuffy@DrAlexManners@BC_BearsFan@GeneSteratore Yes exactly, that's what Gene's second tweet was saying. But they didn't rule forward progress and there wasn't any time on the clock when the Lions scored so the game ended there. If there was still time when Goff scored it would've been 4th & goal from the 19
@MustacheDLuffy@DrAlexManners@BC_BearsFan@GeneSteratore Actually you're right. I saw Gene's second tweet where he was talking about if they had ruled forward progress was stopped and didn't think about what actually happened. Still no 10 second runoff, and if there was still time on the clock it would've been 4th and goal from the 19
@Juniorayers1@sportswithben1@jandinm12 It's not that ABC has a monopoly on Labor Day Sunday college football, but you know they're gonna have a (most likely) good game in that window. Better for NBC to put it in the late afternoon window to avoid that
@aronlongspurs@ryenarussillo He didn't get fooled though. He did get hit in the face, it was an offensive foul. Although it was very very slight and did not justify that reaction at all. I don't know if the league can fine for embellishment if it's not simulation
@moreStimmys@The49erElite54@CSOonX Yes and? I'm not debating they're losing $5 million a day, I'm saying that's insignifcant for them. That's the equivalent of someone having $2,000 losing a nickel a day. It's very minor for a company of Disney's size
@moreStimmys@The49erElite54@CSOonX I would hardly say YTTV has the leverage. The fact of the matter is fans need ESPN, they don't need YTTV. Simple as that. With that said YTTV is not "driving millions to Disney." Also $5 million is chump change to Disney, an organizaition with a market cap of almost $200 billion
@HubertFJass I never said it didn't have any effect. This week's MNF ratings were lower than expected for example. The much bigger reason for the decline in primetime viewership was 27 million watching Game 7 and the main reason for the decline at noon was a stronger Fox game/weaker ABC one
@HubertFJass OMG surprise surprise Vanderbilt/Texas isn't as big of a draw as Ole Miss/Oklahoma, especially considering Fox's noon game was better this week (as evidenced in the Big Noon Kickoff and actual game ratings). And then primetime had to go up against WS Game 7 which drew 27 million
In all seriousness, this is the ideal outcome. Major League Baseball needs a salary cap system. For those who donโt know, ALL cap systems come with a ceiling, a floor, a tight range between the two, and, to ensure it works, expanded revenue sharing. Just like every other sport.
