I do not like nor hate your team - I don’t care. I call it like it is. Officiating Assignments, analysis and Q&A. All my opinions.

Replay’s job is to correct OBVIOUSLY wrong calls on the field.

This is targeting AND it was ruled such on the field.

How does replay come in and overturn it? Mind-boggling to me and absolutely incorrect. This is another poor Big 12 Replay decision. Remember last week in Provo, Big 12 replay missed stopping the Notre Dame-BYU game to correct the clock…..

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

Ruled targeting on the field. Replay overturns the call on the field saying this is not targeting and allowing a pick 6 by Texas Tech.

Awful job by replay. This is absolutely a targeting foul and ruled as such on the field. To have replay overturn it is disappointing and incorrect in my opinion

Controversial overturn on targeting call vs Cincy

Texas Tech intercepted the ball on the play and returned for a touchdown

How does Michigan have a kicker worse than 90% of the Gameday kicker contestants? Good grief

After last week’s unbelievable slate this week has been dreadful. Terrible games.

NFL admits a penalty was enforced against the incorrect team by Referee, Alex Moore, and crew in Week 5.

World Series Umpires:

@RaysBaseball @Brewers

HP: Gabe Morales (1st WS)
1B: Nic Lentz (1st)
2B: James Hoye - Crew Chief (3rd)
3B: Vic Carapazza (2nd)
LF: Dan Bellino (2nd)
RF: Tripp Gibson (2nd)
Reserve: Jim Wolf (3rd)

This is a tremendous crew. James Hoye is a strong Crew Chief and nice to see Jim Wolf making the crew as well. Fun series! Congratulations to all these umpires on this honor! 👍🏻

@reds51397353 @nflrefstats1 @BengalsCaptain Shawn Smith. In my top 5. It’s been a rough year across the board. The only crew I’d take over Smith’s for sure is Alex Kemp so this is about as good of a crew as you could ask for in my opinion 👍🏻

I am back in on AI. This is hilarious. One of the funniest things I’ve seen this year 🤣🤣

[string @propjoesays]

what the hell is happening

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

How was he cleared to play and travel to London?

This is highly concerning. New reports are saying Hurts already has some blood clots in his lungs.

Eagles Organization, Doctors, and NFL have to answer for this. Pulmonary Embolisms are incredibly dangerous, sudden and deadly.

Praying for Jalen and his recovery. 🙏🏻

[ProFootballTalk @ProFootballTalk]

On the advice of doctors, Jalen Hurts was advised not to sleep before playing in London, due to the blood clot in his leg. Hurts was reportedly awake for 36 hours before the Week 5 game against the Jaguars. https://t.co/0J6D9yjbjw

John Hussey was a little sassy yesterday in Philadelphia. Lot of flags and there was something extra on that two handed shovel and second announcement.

Just a strange start to this year all around for officiating.

[NFL on CBS 🏈 @NFLonCBS]

Ian Eagle & @RossTuckerNFL lost it when he finally threw the flag 😂

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

This is obviously beyond football. Hope Jalen is ok and makes a full recovery even if it means he doesn’t play football for a while or again.

Won a Super Bowl and National Championship. Great leader and a lot to be proud of. Blood clots, especially near or in the lungs are incredibly serious and dangerous.

Will say a prayer for Jalen’s full and speedy recovery today. 🙏🏻 👍🏻

[Tom Pelissero @TomPelissero]

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts is expected to be sidelined for multiple months after new imaging over the weekend found several blood clots in his lungs.

Hurts is now on blood thinners and should have no long-term effects. But it’s unlikely he plays again this season.

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

We conclude @SNFonNBC with 22 accepted penalties for 204 total penalty yards enforced by Craig Wrolstad’s crew.

This was not the high mark of the day. That distinction belonged to John Hussey and crew who enforced 24 total accepted penalties for 233 total penalty yards in Philadelphia this afternoon.

Flag fest in the NFL these days

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

Suddenly every team across the entire league is becoming more penalty prone? Or is the more likely explanation, the officials are calling way too much and nitpicking and finding fouls that don’t need to be there.

The holding in London today, these Roughing the Passers etc. Don’t “hunt” fouls 👍🏻

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

People are noticing and not happy. It’s unwatchable right now in my opinion

[Todd Fuhrman @ToddFuhrman]

The league may have a problem

(not included the 21 and counting on @SNFonNBC )

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

At the end of the day, like it or not, the NFL is an entertainment business.

What I see weekly is not entertaining. 20+ flags and 200 penalty yards is not entertaining. Nullifying touchdowns is not entertaining.

The start to the 2026 NFL Season is how you turn fans and casuals away. It’s hard to watch. All my opinions.

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

The Officiating in the NFL right now is really struggling. It’s unfortunately impacting games and really making most of these games unwatchable in my opinion.

We are up to 21 accepted penalties for 197 total yards

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

NFL has to do something about these penalties

[Rate the Refs @Rate_the_Refs]

@AnnieAgar No room for this kind of violence in the national football league!!! Protect our QB's

[OfficiatingObserver17 @RefObserver17]

That is a massive penalty
