1920, the first figurines for Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadic Ballet began to take shape. Spheres, discs, cylinders and unusual materials transformed the human body into geometric figures.

In 1922, the Triadic Ballet premiered in Stuttgart. An experiment in body, color, form and movement that would become an icon of the Bauhaus stage.

The fights were loud, personal, morally charged, identity-coded, and covered wall to wall.

The agreements were made in committee, in legislative language nobody reads, in budget line items, in appointments to regulatory agencies whose names most voters couldn't name.

Democracy, in this arrangement, is the performance of disagreement about the things that don't threaten the arrangement.

The things that threaten the arrangement are handled through the bipartisan consensus that the performance is specifically designed to make invisible.

Watch what they agree on.

Everything else is theater with a very large production budget.
