Prudence Dailey

Christian. Anglican (BCP forever). Small-c conservative. Brexiteer. Cock-up theorist.

@davidjn_ @WalkerMarcus Under the previous Vicar, yes. 😢 Then we had (I think) ESV. Whatever it was, people didn’t like it…

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@steel_life @jecrossfield @cityalan But you don’t know if you are predisposed. So nobody should risk it.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@WalkerMarcus To those arguing that ‘it is discriminatory’, the issue is that the word ‘discrimination’ carries—in current parlance—strong connotations of ‘unjust discrimination’. That’s what makes it sound partisan.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@Mr_Husky1 It’s not blocked.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@gerrylynch There are Muslims in prominent positions in Reform, after all.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@_F_B_G_ The person who devised it is a bigger psychopath.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@pastoralfi @liambeadle If you don’t pass convincingly, then I’m sorry but that’s bad luck, because you’re going to make others feel uncomfortable. This would stop almost all the opportunistic pervs, because they don’t pass and have no interest in doing so.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@pastoralfi @liambeadle My personal, perhaps idiosyncratic, opinion is that trans people should use facilities appropriate to their identified sex ONLY if they pass convincingly—so if no-one would really guess you’re biologically male, into the ladies’ you go; and ditto trans men in the gents’.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@WalkerMarcus I’ve always been a big fan of Kemi—but she’s quite simply backing the wrong horse.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@2D0XPS @FrenchAnglican I remember designing those magnets!

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@2D0XPS I mean you’re not wrong.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@FatManTerra @JDVance Yes, it’s vinyl stickers—believe it or not, they wouldn’t be allowed to deface the ancient stonework of the Cathedral permanently—but why make a beautiful and holy space look ugly even temporarily? I grew up near Canterbury, and this is heartbreaking.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@liambeadle The generation Bishop Richard Chartres referred to as ‘Jasper’s children’. Most of them are dead now.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@CatholicHerald @gavinashenden I don’t understand why you’re doing this, Gavin. Do you really think it’s going to convince anyone?

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@DavidCavan8032 @WalkerMarcus Exactly so.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@frstevenhilton @WalkerMarcus She is—despite dementia, she is still the best and most loving mother, and hasn’t lost her determination either.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@WalkerMarcus Yes, it’s vile—although I’m pretty sure the wax seals have been plastic for a while. I hope when they are restored they will be actual wax again.

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

@noah_nonsense I’m not sure I understand this. ‘Appoint’ in what capacity?

[Prudence Dailey @PrudenceDailey]

So good that the Church of England—in contrast to some other Anglican Provinces—maintains its clear and consistent opposition to assisted suicide. The few dissenters are a TINY minority.
