the artificial neuron is a very simplified shadow of the biological neuron.

a real neuron has dendrites, a cell body, an axon, and terminals.

signals come in through dendrites.
the cell body integrates them.
the axon carries the signal forward.
the terminals pass it to the next neuron.

an artificial neuron copies the rough idea.

inputs come in.
each input gets a weight.
the weighted inputs are added.
a bias shifts the result.
an activation function decides the output.

that is basically:

input → weighted sum → bias → activation → output

simple.
but the important part is not that artificial neurons are “like the brain.”

they are not.
biological neurons are messy, chemical, electrical, adaptive, temporal systems.

artificial neurons are mathematical functions.
but that abstraction was enough to build something powerful.

because once you stack millions of these small functions together, and let them adjust their weights through feedback, they start learning patterns.

this is the strange beauty of AI.

we did not copy the brain perfectly.
we extracted one useful principle:

weighted signals can be combined, transformed, and improved through learning.

tensor algebra is not abstract math.

it is the grammar of modern intelligence.

a scalar is one number.
a vector is a line of numbers.
a matrix is a grid of numbers.
a tensor is the general form: numbers arranged across multiple dimensions.

images are tensors.
videos are tensors.
robot sensor streams are tensors.
neural network weights are tensors.
physics simulations are tensors.

deep learning is basically tensor algebra + optimization + compute.

once you understand tensors, AI stops looking like magic.

it becomes structure.

reality → numbers → geometry → transformations → intelligence.

Estudio muy loco donde se descubre que una sola operación:

eml(x,y) = exp(x) − ln(y)

...combinada con la constante 1, genera absolutamente toda la matemática de tu calculadora científica... senos, cosenos, raíces, logaritmos, e, π, i... todo.

Este hallazgo sugiere que cosas que parecían muy distintas (el seno, la raíz cuadrada, el número π) están todas hechas de la misma pieza básica, solo combinada de formas diferentes... y es que al final, parece que toda la realidad, incluso la simbólica como la matemática, emergería de piezas más elementales...

- The top shows a biologic neuron: dendrites receive signals, the cell body processes them, the axon transmits the signal, and terminals pass it onward.
- The bottom shows an artificial neuron: inputs x₁ to xₙ are weighted by w₁ to wₙ, summed with bias B, then passed through activation function f to produce output. This model is the basis for artificial neural networks.

It drives applications such as image classification in social media and voice recognition in virtual assistants.
