The current Japanese research whaling program calls for killing 4,000 whales over a 12 year period, from 2015-2027. Apparently their researchers didn’t learn enough from killing 10,710 whales under their special-permit whaling programs (JARPA & JARPA-II) that ran from 1987-2014.

Lethal whale research is outdated as there are nonlethal methodologies which can be used to collect the same data that are highly advanced & readily available. There is no scientific justification for Japan to continue killing 333 Minke Whales every year in the Antarctic Ocean.
