They carry pain, not memories. And they cannot say a word.

In one of the world’s most famous tourist spots, donkeys and mules are still being forced to climb nearly 500 steep steps over and over every single day. They haul heavy tourists under the burning sun, often without rest, proper water, or medical care.

Investigations reveal the truth people don’t see. These animals live exhausted, injured, and pushed beyond their limits, treated like walking taxis instead of living beings who feel pain just like we do.

Many suffer from open wounds, spinal injuries, and unbearable weight. Some collapse on the steps. Yet the cycle continues because tourists keep riding, unaware of the cruelty behind the photo.

These animals don’t choose this life. They don’t understand why they must climb until their legs shake or why rest never comes.

They deserve compassion, not exploitation. And the change begins when people decide their happiness matters more than a vacation picture.

A baby Elephant has been killed by a lorry whilst attempting to cross the East-West Highway near Gerik, Perak.

Moments later, its mother emerged from the forest, displaying visible distress and refusing to leave her baby's side.

No mother should have to suffer like this.
