In Burkina Faso 🇧🇫 a 14-year-old kid just built his own AI called FasoNova. - His name is Chérif Kounta. He started messing around with tech when he was four after his dad gave him a tablet. By 10 he had already made an interactive calendar, and at 11 he built an AI tool to fight fake news. Now at 14 he’s released FasoNova, an AI made specifically for people in Burkina Faso and the rest of Africa instead of the usual one-size-fits-all stuff.

What makes it different is that it doesn’t just answer questions. It has a “mission mode” that walks you through your goals until you actually finish them. Want to open a small shop? It can help you estimate costs, list what you need to buy, and suggest suppliers. For students, it explains the method first before checking your work, instead of just handing over the answer.

He also made privacy a priority. Your data is encrypted, stored on private servers, never used to train other models, and even he can’t access it.

The name comes from “Faso” (for the homeland) and “Nova” (meaning new).

His Excellency, President Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, is in Mozambique for the groundbreaking ceremony of the second phase of the Companhia do Pipeline Moçambique-Zimbabwe (CPMZ) expansion project.

He was received at Beira International Airport by his counterpart, President Daniel Chapo. The two leaders are now expected to travel to Nhamatanda, Sofala Province, for the official launch of the pipeline expansion project.

Two new pumping stations, located in Messica and Nhamatanda, will increase the annual pumping capacity of the Beira-Feruka pipeline by 67%, bringing it from 3 million to 5 million cubic metres.
