A female monarch would be Queen Regnant, also titled Queen. Neither Regnant nor Consort form part of the title or form of address, just Queen for either type

@isabellbowcrisp She IS Queen Consort (wife of king), as such the title is Queen (same as ALL previous Queens Consort). A female monarch, like QEII is a Queen Regnant, also titled Queen. Through the reign of a king, his wife is The Queen, Through the reign of Queen Regnant, she is The Queen

@margaretcheal1 Queen Consort is not a 'name' or a title, it's a position, the wife of a king. The title is Queen. When QEII said she wanted Camilla to be 'known as Queen Consort' she was asking for her to be the same as any other wife of a king (having had an alternative title as wife of PofW)

@lizwilk08888462 She IS Queen Consort. Queen Consort is always titled Queen. Queen Consort always gets a crown (Queen Camilla was crowned with the crown made for Queen Mary, Consort of George V). She’s not Queen Regnant (female monarch, like QEII) but ‘Queen’ doesn’t imply she is

@ChristineJoy65 @GreggC_CC Ironically it’s BECAUSE all types of Queen are titled Queen, that they’ve never heard the terms Regnant and Consort before. Sure some of them think Queen Consort is a special title/position created just for Camilla!
