.@jaketapper serious question: don’t you have an obligation, when interviewing people, particularly politicians, to point out when they don’t answer the question? When you don’t point that out, aren’t you just a platform for “spin”?
@ATJackson47 Keep reading, sweetheart: Yet it also revealed left-wing violence remained far less lethal over the past decade, with 41 attacks and 13 deaths since 2016, compared with 152 attacks and 112 deaths from the right over the same period.
Jeffries: Donald Trump and Republicans are lying. Federal law currently prohibits healthcare funds from being used for undocumented immigrants, and no one is asking for that law to be repealed.
Last year's government funding included tax credits for health care. A "clean" funding bill would keep those tax credits.
It's not hard to understand, but Republicans are willing to shut the government down over it.
🚨NEW: Kerry Kennedy has announced Late Show Host Stephen Colbert is the recipient of the 2025 Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Award for his advocacy for free speech and speaking truth to power.
RETWEET to congratulate Colbert on this honor!
Let’s be clear what’s going on with the government funding fight.
It’s about nothing more than the cost of YOUR health care.
It doesn’t matter if your coverage is Medicaid, employer-sponsored, or from the ACA… if Republicans have their way, your costs are going up.
@JDVance .@VP .@JDVance You are a disgrace. You are a representative of the United States of America. Try conducting yourself with dignity, kindness and respect for others. Name-calling is unacceptable discourse.
Another victim of political violence who deserves to be memorialized and honored is David Rose who was gunned down by a radical as he ran to protect employees of the CDC.
A beautiful tribute from @BillKristol in today's newsletter.

In the last few years we've seen:
- The plot to kidnap Gretchen Whitmer
- The Storming of the Capitol and pipe bombs left at the RNC and DNC
- The break-in to kidnap Nancy Pelosi and the brutal on Paul Pelosi
- Multiple assassination attempts against Trump
- The assassination of Minnesota House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband and the shooting of on State Senator John Hoffman and his wife
- Luigi Mangione's assassination of Brian Thompson
- The assassination of Charlie Kirk
Political violence is contagious. It is spreading. It is not confined to one side or belief system. It should terrify us all.
The foundation of a free society is the ability to participate in it without fear of violence. Political violence is always an attack against us all. You have to be so blind not to see that.
Not gonna lie, it’s been fun watching Trump and Elon fight like little boys today.
Just keep in mind that while their messy breakup plays out, Republicans are pushing through a Trump budget that will kick millions of people off their health care.
I noticed you didn’t issue a detailed rebuttal the the claims about your drug use and other behaviour which seemed pretty well sourced to me.
Instead you chose to attack the paper rather than address the report. Does really inspire confidence in your assessment of the paper or that their claims are untrue.
More broadly this is yet another example of the weird world you and MAGA commentators inhabit where if you don’t get your way or someone disagrees with you they are crazy Marxist zealots. It’s so childish and transparent it would be funny if it wasn’t for the fact so many people seem willing to believe you.
Personally watching your out of control behaviour in public and posts on X and strange interviews I think these all seem consistent with the things reported in the NYT.
Hypocrisy and Hubris combined with drug induced extreme thinking are a very bad combination for anyone in a position of power. But given the real harm your cuts to services and essential jobs have caused to families and children in the US and through the world it really is unforgivable.
Here’s the truth:
•The New York Times (along with The Washington Post) won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for National Reporting for their work covering Russian interference in the 2016 election and the connections between the Trump campaign and Russia.
•Donald Trump and his allies have repeatedly called for the Pulitzer board to revoke these awards, claiming the reporting was false and part of a “Russia hoax.”
•The Pulitzer Board, after reviewing the complaints in 2022, reaffirmed their decision to award the prizes. They stated that the submissions were thoroughly vetted and no evidence was found to warrant rescinding the awards.
•As of now (May 2025), the Pulitzer Prizes have not been revoked, and The New York Times has not been ordered to return their Pulitzer.
There was a Florida court case Trump filed trying to challenge the Pulitzers indirectly through legal action — but that case was dismissed earlier this year. The court rejected Trump’s lawsuit on procedural and merit-based grounds, not on a finding that the reporting was false.
Summary:
•No Pulitzer has been revoked.
•No court has ordered The New York Times to return its Pulitzer.
•The Pulitzer Board stands by their awards.
God. Not only did the Trump Admin give USAID workers only 15 minutes to clear their desks, they refused to allow one to take a picture of his dead wife’s name on USAID’s memorial wall. She was a foreign service officer.
How fucking cruel can they be?
America,
This is our Germany 1933 moment.
Decide who the fuck you're gonna be, what you stand for, what you want your legacy to be—and how you are going to respond.
This is beyond party, beyond country.
This is about our collective humanity.
