We ❤ Pumpherston Public Library.. 130 years of history.. Used by young and old.. Librarians bring the world of literature alive.. Views not attributable to WLC
Pumpherston has had a Library since the shale days in 1886. One of our last communal spaces.
Despite a reprieve, the library is still threatened by an equal cut to resources including books and librarian hours

📣 @NicolaSturgeon’s message to Boris Johnson:
“Just take that uncertainty away and say that the more generous furlough will be available for any part of the UK whenever it is needed - not just there when England has to be in lockdown, regardless of the situation elsewhere.”
If only the Scottish twiteratti would go off on 1 about this 👇
Uk gov wants Faslane to be the UK base for nuclear disposal.
Extending facilities @ Faslane, pumping radioactive waste into Gare Loch.

It was 548 years ago today,
King Christian gave us both away.
We've been going in and out of style,
But we're guaranteed to raise a smile,
So may I introduce to you,
The isles you've known for all these years...

@PUSCPS @PumpherstonCC Our knitting club is fab but the council are looking to close the library on a Wednesday and our club will be no more.. Please fill in the @LoveWestLothian consultation in the library by Thursday.. Tell them that you #LoveYourLibrary ❤
UK General Election this autumn could be used by SNP to have Sec30 agreed to .. IF NOT then the democracy of majority of Scottish seats can provide the independence mandate (as Thatcher said) without a referendum.
Maybe all closer than we think. 👍😁
It’s a privilege to serve the people of the Livingston constituency as their Member of Parliament.
I love my job and getting to serve the community I grew up in is a huge privilege.
However, week in week out I see the systematic and fundamental failings of a broken system. 👇
Och nobody likes a clype (scottish word for a tell tale) but aye, it’s against the rules.
My view - the rules are designed to exclude the public and the Commins needs shown up for the dysfunctional shambles that it really is!
Consider yourself informed 💁♀️
We're all set for this year's knitting adventures thanks to the kind donation of handmade knitting bags courtesy of Jane from @CraigshillLib.. Thanks ❤
We luve our #KnitAndBlether sessions.. We weren't due to start back yesterday but turned up at the Library to expectant faces desperate to knit 😂
The kids are leading the sessions.. Here's Danielle teaching Darcy and Murron to 'finger-knit' 👩🎓
After a long, restful Christmas break the legend that is #BookyMcBookface is back out on the road. Today he's away on the ferry to the wonderful island of Westray to deliver books, joy and #WednesdayWisdom to everyone he meets.

It's the most beautiful #shortestday in #Orkney and Simon has just been out in Stromness and the west mainland delivering books to our readers that can't make it to the library. 😀
Think of the People who have Changed the World.. You could be one of them.. Come and tell us what you'd do.. Thursday 3.15-4.15pm Pumpherston Library 🌍📖🤗
We decided that instead of buying a real Christmas tree every year we would try to make one that we could use again and again. A rough plan was made to construct a frame and fill it with fabric squares.
Really sorry for you Sarah.. The school management might feel that budgets are tight but they are wrong.. Librarians are vital in bringing children into the world of literature.. We are continuing the fight to let West Lothian Council understand this ❤📖 ✊✊🏿✊🏼
