I really enjoyed spending Friday at @UVA_Pathology’s research day as the resident-chosen keynote speaker and the opportunity to talk with trainees about their work, career advice and creative life outside of medicine. Thank you to @AnneMillsMD for your hospitality!
Dr. Jason Hornick @JLHornick delivered an outstanding Grand Rounds presentation at the Department of Pathology at Brown University @BrownMedPhys@BrownPathology: Beyond Lineage: Diagnostic and Predictive Molecular Immunohistochemistry.
We learned tremendously from one of the true pioneers whose work and discoveries have helped shape the rapidly evolving field of surgical pathology, especially in soft tissue tumor classification. Dr. Hornick’s presentation highlighted how next-generation immunohistochemistry and biomarker-driven diagnostics are transforming daily surgical pathology practice.
Equally inspiring was his perspective on how emerging molecular insights are challenging traditional concepts, redefining established entities, and reshaping the way we think about tumor diagnosis and classification.
Thank you, Jason, for sharing your wisdom, vision, and remarkable journey with us.
We bid goodbye to one of the greats yesterday as @rjhomer57 called it a career after 40-plus years of providing excellence in thoracic pathology @YaleMed. Fortunately for us, Dr. Homer will remain as Professor Emeritus of Pathology & Senior Research Scientist.

Thrilled to be among this amazing group! This course has a really cool format - 36 (!) cases in 2 sessions .. a little like speed dating.. But what can be better than reviewing cases together around a multi-head scope. Look forward to being a part of this, and meeting those who can join us.
