What happened to the Igbo people before, during, and after the Biafra War was not “conflict” it was ethnic cleansing.
Before any war began, Igbo families in the North were already being butchered: teachers, traders, civil servants, pregnant women, and children k!lled simply for being Igbo.

During the war, Nigeria became a hunting ground.
Across the South and Middle Belt, neighbors turned into informants.
Homes were pointed out, properties seized, and some Igbo men k!lled so others could take their wives.
Federal soldiers used humiliation as a weapon:
“Say Toro.”
If your tongue revealed the Igbo “R,” you were dragged out and executed on the spot.

And we must speak of Anioma, not just Asaba, but Ibusa, Ogwashi-Uku, Issele-Uku, Onicha-Ugbo, Onicha-Olona, Ubulu-Uku, Ezi, Idumuje-Ugboko, Okpanam, Isheagu and more.
Towns turned into mass graves.
Men lined up and shot.
Women violated.
Children orphaned in hours.

After the war came economic punishment.
No matter how much an Igbo man had in the bank, thousands or millions… he was given £20.
