" Red.. ๐๐ฒ๐น๐น ๐บ๐ฒ. Whatever you think you ๐ค๐ข๐ฏ'๐ต share with me, I swear y'can. "
He swallowed hard, forcing a soft chuckle out of him to chip away at the tension.
" Whatever you're doing's bound to make more sense than stuff they've got us doing back onboard. "
An action so small that could hold so much power, Purple despised it.. but he did not retreat in any way, shape, or form. His muscles relaxed, arms falling out of eachother before he reached to lightly place his own hand on top of Red's.
He looked across to the other tallest, frustrated, brow drawn upwards in a concerned angle that made his anxiety completely impossible to cover for now. In a low, steady tone that began to unravel into a shakier pace, Purple was demanding now.
Purple's eyes bore into the other's features, searching for some sign of an answer, an emotionally suggestive answer but.. per usual, he got nothing. Even after so long, it was still difficult for him to get so much as a read on Red. So, still he remained, awaiting any response.
Purple stopped his advance and stood firmly, antennae flattened against his head. He would not show weakness, or vulnerability; especially not now. Folding his arms, his tone was low and almost seemed to crawl from his throat, bitter and doubtful.
" -presumably, behind my back.. and everyone else's. "
The last bit of monologue was followed by a gaze cast downward, a poor attempt at disguising Purple's genuine feeling of ever so slight betrayal. He returned his eyes to Red and held his stare.
His eyes betrayed him, though. Piercing, brow drawn inward with concern.. those bright violet orbs uncharacteristically glazed over with a million different horrible scenarios brought about by anxiety bubbling up from deep in his core.
Head raised and shoulders pushed back, Purple strained to look around Red, taking another step forward. He was tempted, really, to forget this had happened. To go back and write it off as a lucid dream, but something in his spooch began tugging at his nerves.
" What are you trying to hide back there? Bad shopping receipts, an extensively long take out order? "
Purple joked but, really, he was on absolute edge with apprehensive pretense. He wanted to appear harmlessly curious, a typical ruse of obnoxious inquisition.
Purple's figure went rigid, standing tall in the body suit that usually substituted for under-armor during his periods of sleep, casting a shadow across the space between him and the other irken.
" ..Red? Seriously, what's going on out here? "
" OHH no, don't flip this on me, I'M not the one making mysterious trips to this deserted rock in the middle of the night. "
Purple began stepping closer, taking note of the fact that Red had just seemed to run out here in his PJ's, he caught a glimpse of a crate sat behind Red.
Papers. He didn't catch what was on them before he stopped in front of Red, squinting at him in the dim light of one of this planet's orbiting small moons, eyes illuminated by the faint glow that was cast on the both of them.
Purple was standing a few feet behind his.. friend? Peer? Co-ruler. He'll leave the label there for now. What the brains was he doing digging around in the dirt. He spoke sharply and suddenly, a raised inquisitive lilt in his voice.
" Hey! What are you doing out here?! "

On any other night, yes, Purple would have been sleeping in a willful state of unconscious, ignorant bliss. Although irken biology did not necessitate the need for sleep like many other species, he often indulged in the luxury.. but not tonight.
A wasteland, really; he didn't even hear something akin to animals around. What his antennae could pick up, however, were distant yet distinct scraping sounds; it was almost more like digging. Purple followed the direction of the noise, which grew louder, until it ceased.
