Today marks a historic milestone for the Tulu language and the people of Tulunadu.

The Karnataka Cabinet, meeting in Mangaluru, has recognised Tulu as an Additional Official Language of Karnataka.

After years of efforts, campaigns and the aspirations of generations of Tulu-speaking people, Tulu has received official recognition in the state.

We express our gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri D.K. Shivakumar and the Karnataka Cabinet for taking this historic decision and recognising the linguistic and cultural importance of Tulu.

This is an important step towards the preservation, promotion and development of Tulu, while strengthening Karnataka’s rich multilingual heritage.

Hon’ble CM, if you are coming to Tulunad, come with a commitment to act. Grant Tulu additional administrative language status in Karnataka through legislation. Tulunad does not need another verbal assurance. we need the Bill to be introduced and passed.
