1. Trump has essentially ended the #H1Bvisa system. Indians, and especially people from Telangana and Andhra were its biggest beneficiaries. How will this affect India and what does it say about Indian foreign policy? 👇
2. 71–72% of all H1B visas go to Indians. Within India, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh dominate the H1B ecosystem. The average annual salary for Indian H1B holders is ~$120,000 primarily in the tech industry. For families back home, these salaries translate into a source of income, contributing significantly to India’s $125 billion remittance inflow. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana account for 37% of Indian NRI deposits. A major source of intergenerational mobility has been closed. But who is to blame?
3. My complaint is not against Trump, he did what he wanted. My quarrel is with this government: what did you achieve with Howdy Modi and Namaste Trump? All those NRIs that you gathered in the Madison Square garden, what did that achieve? Birthday wishes are not foreign policy successes. This ending of H1B visas was meant to target Indians. That the US is putting its relationship with India at risk is proof that it does not care about our strategic value. We are a strategic partner of the US, and if they don’t see us as allies, then it is a failure of this government.
4. We should see this along with other things that the US has done to India recently. The enormous tariffs, the Pakistan-US trade agreement, the Pakistan-Saudi agreement (could not have happened without US’s blessings) and overall India’s vulnerable position in the world. We are in a hostile neighbourhood and increasingly isolated on the global stage.
5. India has entered into dedollarisation agreements with over 18 countries, including Qatar and many ASEAN countries. Trade payment settlements are happening in rupees with these countries. We must expand this to trade with all major trading partners. We must not cede an inch to Trump’s blackmail.
6. I do not derive any pleasure from seeing this happen. This is not an opportunity for me to score some brownie points. But the government must introspect as to why India is facing such difficulties in foreign policy and national security. Is it because you have reduced these issues to gimmicks? After all, it’s not Modi who suffers, but common Indians.
You have sacrificed our long-term gains for domestic posturing. 2014-2024 has been a lost decade.
If Ethanol prices has surpassed Petrol in the first 2-3 months itself, is this even a sustainable model?
What a waste of time, resources and a lack of vision.
The Indian government says E20 petrol is costlier due to rising ethanol prices, with no price cut expected. It also claims to offer better ride quality and lower emissions. Mileage concerns are tied to driving habits and maintenance, claims further.
Your thoughts on #E20fuel?
Indian Air Force Chief says: "Our best minds are working for other countries. We must retain Merit by offering them better incentives & environment."
Clearly, Defence wants Merit,
But Politicians want Reservations !
A Domino’s delivery boy Rohit Levre was denied payment by a couple in Mumbai because he couldn’t speak Marathi.
Pick on someone powerless, create an issue out of nothing, and harass them just to feel important, the trademark behaviour of petty, bigoted, arrogant, and ego-driven people.
Since fauj is in news, the armed forces expect just one thing from us: to be citizens worth fighting for. Is this the kind of citizen worth a soldier’s sacrifice?
Damn… how did I miss this?
Yesterday, when Pakistan violated the ceasefire, drones hit Srinagar, and maybe even Vaishnodevi.
News channels were showing it. Tweets were out. CM Omar Abdullah tweeted. It was out there.
Then suddenly - a Silence.
News vanished. Tweets deleted. Army said “nothing happened.”
Even MEA’s press briefing felt soft, weird, and fishy.
Now remember and think.
India had hit Pakistan’s nuclear sites. And that’s shattered Pakistan. That broke something inside them. That’s why they went crazy. That’s why they called ceasefire. But not for peace.
Pakistan was about to push the button.
Probably, they threatened India on the DGMO call.
Probably, they told the US too - “We’ll use it.”
America stepped in. Forced everyone to stop.
India was cornered.
Not by fear - but by what was coming. A full-scale nuclear exchange.
And that’s why everything got buried.
Because if the world found out how close we were, global panic would begin.
One more thing:
Pakistan’s been reporting repeated 4.0 earthquakes for months - same regions.
Same magnitude. Same pattern.
That’s not natural.
Probably that’s nuke-related activity.
And India must’ve known.
Now it all makes sense.
Ceasefire wasn’t weakness.
It was standing on the edge of the cliff - and taking a step back was must.
And now they’ve broken it again.
Just wait.
This game is not over.
It’s only paused.
The Indian Govt has had zero contribution to Sunita Williams' life, from her birth to her recent rescue from space. Yet, the way Modi and his cabinet are reacting to her return is another level of international clout chasing.
Stop embarrassing yourselves, you fools!
He's leaving a citizenship that ties him down with a $2.9K per capita GDP country and obtaining the citizenship of a country with a $48K per capita GDP. No wonder he's so goddamm happy.
🚨India is the only country in the world where Cricketers promote gambling apps, tobacco and alcohol.
They have zero responsibility towards the people of India.
But we cannot criticize them as they are Indian Players.
