@gmkurtzer@errors_here@Polymarket whatever, the same thing could be said for linux. executables weigh much more than source code. it's just very stupid idea. we've invented code for a reason
@gmkurtzer@errors_here@Polymarket c'mon man. hello world in C language takes few lines of code. binary for windows is usually order of hundreds kilobytes
@penisfacemcgee3@tenobrus you're doing appeal to history, but you're faling to acknowledge that there was no time like this in human history ever before. workforce is going to be completely decoupled from population and will be able to grow as fast as physics allows.
@ReggBrown75@TrueSlazac@souljagoyteller in this sense, industrial revolution is part of singularity itself. now, it's just the culmination of that. it'll lead to very good results or it'll lead to very bad results (i.e. we'll be killed by AI). i am completely unsure about direction, bit more sure about magnitude
@ReggBrown75@TrueSlazac@souljagoyteller lifes of people after agricultural revolution and before industrial revolution stayed roughly the same. life of medieval peasant wasn't so different from life of average guy living in roman empire. sure, rulers changed, and methods of plowing field changed, but it's almost all.
@ReggBrown75@TrueSlazac@souljagoyteller what if robots become less likely to malfunction than humans? then ski resorts would have to ban real humans. not that it'd matter anymore, because AI could heal anything instantly. so, no ban. also you could've just take a magical pill that would implant in you skill of skiing.
@ReggBrown75@TrueSlazac@souljagoyteller well, the whole point of singularity is that once AI gets good enough to meaningfully improve its succesor over itself, the pace of R&D would increase unimaginably. Imagine 10^15 Einstein-level intelects working on anything really. I don't see how anything couldn't be done.
@ReggBrown75@TrueSlazac@souljagoyteller AGI could possibly make human-like clones, but without sentience (whatever that is), that would do every conceivable job that needs to be done by humans. And they would never be tired and they would never lose their patience. And they would be smarter, nicer and funnier.
@ReggBrown75@TrueSlazac@souljagoyteller wouldn't true AGI just create humanoidal ski instructors robots that are better ski instructors than you, therefore rendering you jobless anyway?
@liron AI can't
self-replicate en-masse across internet
take over government
control flying slaughterbots
construct bioweapon
build Dyson sphere around Sun
turn universe into paperclips
...
yet
@MikeTorren00@e_kinia Naprawdę tego nie rozumiesz? Jeśli masz w urnie milion kulek, z czego np. 10% czarnych i 90% białych, i wyciągniesz losowo 1000 z nich to z 97% prawdopodobieństwem odsetek czarnych będzie pomiędzy 8% a 12%. Czyli średnio tylko w 1 badaniu na 30 pomylisz się o więcej niż 2 punkty.
