🏥 This morning we visited Alder Hey Children's hospital
🤝 It was great to meet and thank staff for the excellent care they provide
💬 As well as discus how we can innovate to reduce healthcare inequalities
Yesterday, we welcomed @liamrobinson24, @harrydoyle96, and @CllrNickSmall to @AlderHeyInnov.
Together, we explored how innovation can drive better health outcomes and ensure children remain at the heart of future policy as we urge the Government and policymakers to #PutChildrenFirst.
Today the govt is introducing legislation to abolish the two-child limit.
More than any other, this policy has driven kids into poverty & cut them off from opportunity. Removing it is the right thing to do – supporting future generations & giving all kids a fair start in life.
Today’s child poverty strategy marks real progress.
It could lift 550,000 children out of poverty by 2030, and ending the two-child limit is a vital step for families and children’s health.
At Alder Hey, we see poverty’s impact daily. The test now is translating this strategy into lasting change.

Scrapping the two-child limit will also benefit Scottish government, who had planned to mitigate the impact of this policy.

Our campaign spokesperson and CEO of @AlderHeyCharity, Fiona Ashcroft, welcomed the removal of the two-child limit in @LivEchonews, outlining:
“Scrapping the two-child limit will lift 24,000 children in Liverpool and roughly 450,000 children across the UK out of poverty.
It’s a positive step, but we’re still experiencing a children’s health emergency and this Government needs to put children first".

Scrapping the two-child limit will be transformational for children.
This is a much-needed fresh start in our country’s efforts to eradicate child poverty and while there is more to do it gives us strong foundations to build on.
