Pretending England isn’t central to football history and culture is simply ignorance. England codified the ffing sport, built the world’s biggest and richest domestic league, attracts the best players and managers from every continent, and English clubs have won more European Cups/Champions Leagues than any other nation. Argentina have the better international trophy cabinet, fair enough. But if you think England “doesn’t belong in the football conversation,” you’ve confused international trophy counts with the history, culture and global influence of football itself. Is there any point correcting a mule?
