Former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom has declared himself a WNBA prospect, says he meets every requirement necessary.
The 6 ft 10 in, 250 pound player says he reviewed the WNBA eligibility criteria and has decided to declare himself eligible for the 2027 WNBA draft.
The announcement comes after some WNBA coaches and players have announced their support of men in women’s sports.
“My team and I have carefully examined the WNBA’s eligibility criteria and governing framework surrounding self-identification and inclusion,” he said.
“Based on the current guidelines, I can and am officially declaring my eligibility for the upcoming WNBA draft in April 2027.”

The X-Men are weird because yes, they were obviously INTENDED to represent "oppressed minorities" but the metaphor doesn't really work at all. The X-Men spend most of their time defending humans from violent mutant extremists. I can't think of any real world civil rights organization that spent most of its time defending white people from violent minorities. This isn't even how minorities or liberals view civil rights groups in their own imagination. For the metaphor to work, the X-Men would have to allow Magneto to destroy civilization by reversing the Earth's magnetic poles and then say "we can prevent this from happening again in the future by giving more federal funding to Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters"
