I am so proud of my friend @AshutoshRanka who led the CJP protest. Of his courage, his conviction, and the model of citizenship he represents.

When another friend asked me “What are such people made of?”, I wanted to attempt an answer. So wrote this essay.

@imrksk I know this is objectively false. Known him for more than a decade now - he was two years my junior at IIT Kanpur.

Yet, I am curious: which interview? Can you please share link? I would love to hear what you heard.

Ranka left a comfortable life in London because he refused to be a bystander.

Now he's in jail. Our turn now.

To those keeping him there: you can lock him up. You can’t make him stop caring about this country. Dekh lena. I know my friend.

Release Saurav and Ranka. NOW.

Two men who punched a minor girl then dragged her onto the road, continued to hit her, and ripped her t-shirt got bail within 24 hours. Meanwhile, remand extended for two guys who waved the tricolour. 🤷‍♂️

If such public space like this exist in India we wouldn't have to spend 2k ₹ in cafe just to meet friend.

Imperfect action, zindabaad!

You may miss obstacles. Your strategy may hit an unknown. You will say something you wish you hadnt. It’s okay.

Many of us aren’t assuming motives, inventing rivalries, or demanding textbook standards.

Carry on. Sending love for trying! ❤️

More people should read this story on Ashutosh's background and how he chose the path of public work.

Deeply personal & great writing by @PySamarth

@ayeshasood Totally. Do want to point out that Indian Express newsroom has been at it for more than a year. This piece blew up, but the central theme of centralisation of power in the EC has been reported by the paper across states, across stories, and that understanding compounded.

My father @TusharG was followed and taken to DN Nagar Police Station. Listen to the testimony of the driver who saw the state apparatus pick up a 66 year old unarmed descendent of India’s founders. “Bring my medicine” - his text to me. @RahulGandhi @SauravDassss @neha_aisa

@arvindsubraman @JindalGlobalUNI @PIIE Wow. If possible, please do share the lecture recordings online. Learnt so much from your Indian Economy course at IIT Delhi (https://t.co/9wktBMV1Jy) 🙏

BELIEVE

[Samarth Bansal @PySamarth]

@stuckinrevmode Totally agree. And yet, what salvaged it for me was the “I forgive you” moment in the finale which brought it full circle with the S1 arc of Ted and Rebecca. :)

No quiero libros escritos por IA, quiero libros escritos por novelistas rusos alcoholicos al borde de un colapso mental por la depresión, así lo quiso Dios.

@Mykethogan This scene! ❤️ Best character of this season!

[Samarth Bansal @PySamarth]

@stuckinrevmode This. Watched this scene twice, while watching this episode for the first time. 😭😭

The Election Commission of India is under fire like never before.

The SIR has struck 13 crore names off draft rolls, putting the EC at the centre of intense public debate over its role in deciding who gets to vote — and who doesn’t.

HOWEVER, what nobody knew: through that same period, some of the sharpest questions were being asked from inside.

Out today, after months of work. Our #ExpressInvestigation 🧵

Wrote about my race experience, my understanding of why HYROX became a fitness cult, and how Paneer Makhani is a solution to most problems in life. :)

[Samarth Bansal @PySamarth]

I did HYROX last week. But a week before , I had no plans to do it. I thought it was a professional-athlete suffer-fest. Not for me.

Then I did it, and experienced the fabulous feeling of discovering what my body is capable of.

Wrote about it. Link in next tweet.
