In the film Batman hands Lucius Fox a super computer that taps into all the cell phones in Gotham and turns them into a mass surveillance network that could see and hear everything done by anyone in Gotham

Lucius Fox took one look at the system and said, "No one should have this kind of power". And everyone watching the movie fully understood why. Even if used to find someone as dangerous as The Joker, the trampling of everyone's privacy wasn't worth the cost

So why now just 18 years later would anyone welcome the Flock camera network that basically does the same thing in real life?

In fact, the system from the movie gave only a real time look at the people of Gotham. The Flock network creates a searchable database so you can see where everyone traveled to and from historically. It is worse that the system from Batman, and some people still embrace it

Except it wasn’t cheap, that’s the illusion inflation has created for you. Average landline expense for local and long distance in the 90’s was $50-$69. That’s $125-$140 today. I pay less than that now for three cell phone lines with unlimited everything. Average cable bills back then (not for fancy things or pay per view) was $20-$30, which is equal to $48-$60 today. You can have a myriad of streaming services and still pay less than cable in the 90’s.

For a rocket to reach space is to achieve orbit, and it has to travel horizontally to gain enough speed while utilizing the earths rotation away from the rocket to escape earth’s gravitational pull on the rocket. If rockets went straight up they would run out of fuel and fall back to earth.
