At Pyrra, we want to make the internet, and the world, a safer place. Our platform powers investigations into threats and misinformation on dark social media.

Worse yet, these communities (and some public figures) quickly mobilized to slander Mr. Pelosi, an innocent man recovering from a skull fracture. The reality is, once a false narrative begins circulating in the online ecosystem, it is extremely difficult to reverse the damage.
In the early morning of October 28, David DePape allegedly broke into Nancy Pelosi’s San Francisco house with the intention of violently interrogating the Speaker of the House about the Democratic party. Instead, he found her husband, Paul Pelosi, asleep in bed. 🧵
While some may dismiss the physical and virtual attacks on Mr. Pelosi as isolated events, this is far from reality. DePape’s views are clearly supported across alt-social communities, which enabled his belief that he could (and should) violently attack the Speaker of the House.
