I don’t give my daughters pocket money to buy toys.
I hand them ₹500 and take them to a kirana store.
Started this in 2025. On purpose.
They pick items.
Ask prices.
Count change.
Sometimes mess up.
Sometimes surprise me.
And every time, the store staff smile.
We talk a lot about financial literacy.
Posts. Books. Apps.
But real learning looks simpler.
A child at a kirana counter.
Counting notes twice.
Owning a small responsibility.
Not about raising entrepreneurs.
About raising adults who are comfortable with money.
Most of us learned this late.
Some are still learning it.
Financial habits don’t start with spreadsheets.
They start with ₹500, a local store, and trust.

@CarlsonPress@RealPostFolder I also dream where I am sitting in the math exam and I have not opened the book once during the whole semester. I don't know why it's always math exam, math was my strong subject in school and college.
Indian software engineers are so goatedly unemployed that they created a programming language themed around brotherhood called Bhailang literally mind-blowing.
