@ray4tesla Don't kid yourself, Telsa has sold you on the idea of "minimalism" because it's cheaper to make interiors sans things like buttons. This is a massive improvement to the Model Y/3
Hello! @MikeWintrs
Kudos for better comparos than most here: https://t.co/gq9lpc43xk.
But, it's important to point out the EVs in each of your comparos are faster than ICEs, with more interior space. In short, EVs have other advantages. Also, I paid ~$650 for my EVSE, not $2k.
@felixsalmon
https://t.co/ZMjGg2pvGF this brief is really misleading and it seems like Toyota wrote it for you. Hybrids are heavy, as are F-150s (#1 seller in the US). EV specific tires reduce the particular problem, and batt tech is coming to reduce China/prod problems.
@rickjnewman Appreciate the response, but fully disagree. They've only been pushing as hard as they need to. Hell, just in the past couple of years, Toyota and Nissan both announced major breakthroughs in thermal efficiency. OEMs only invest as much as is required by law to maximize profit.
Hello, @rickjnewman, this is laughably inaccurate: ". . . it’s nearly impossible to make gasoline-powered cars more efficient than they already are." E.g., https://t.co/NKINE4iI7z EVs are also cleaner running on coal than their gas rivals . . . #facts
Hello! @KatherineJWu!
Just to add to https://t.co/yWWRUiA2H6, I have a Mach-3 4X and am an old school car nerd that likes to go fast AND someone who cares a great deal about my impact on the environment. Modern EVs are magical things for people like me! #ev#machE
@AJA_Cortes@juanbuis@Christophepas You're an asshat. I'm waiting to see research on this to see how valid it is, but calling people that think differently "broken," is a dick move. Also, your desperate cries for attention as you flex in your profile pic show a hopelessly broken personality. Feel good?
Culture wars don't fix wrecked trains, @JDVance1. Grow a spine and a brain so that maybe you can help solve the problem you unbelievable coward and sellout. #OhioChemicalDisaster#OhioTrainDisaster
@wintonsauto And, finally, your premise is inherently flawed. If I buy a Camaro and drive it like I stole it, I'll get crappy MPG. If I drive it with a light foot, and no fun, I'll get surprisingly good MPG. You act like the WLTP (and EPA) ratings on ICE cars are 100% accurate (they aren't).
Hi, @wintonsauto...
This piece is kinda trash: https://t.co/kyJXsAVRp2
Yes, the WLTP is way too generous to EVs, but you should've talked to more owners. I just drove my EV (Mach-E) ~2,600 in two weeks, including stretches over 500 miles. I beat my EPA rating a couple of days.
@wintonsauto You also don't talk about EV strengths like how much more efficient they are for more typical daily driving (mixed/around town). An ICE gets crap MPG at low speeds with lots of stops/starts when compared to the efficiency of an EV in the same situation.
@wintonsauto Citing your own numbers without divulging your methodology, how many of each model tested, trims, what the conditions were like, what roads you were on, etc., is not proof. It's not definitive, and it's not science.
Edmunds has done a MUCH better job: https://t.co/snpSJXmDz8
@wintonsauto In fact, I've taken my MME on a few road trips now, and it's easily the best road trip car I've owned. Yeah, that's subjective, but OBJECTIVELY, I get close to, or beat, my EPA rating on those trips. Hell, I get better than that in daily driving even with my lead foot.
