@illusorywall The Original Devil May Cry and Onimusha already made this idea work 20 years ago. I think it’s a neat idea for a games presentation and I wish we had more of it.

@PatStaresAt The perfect example of this is the 21 Jump Street movie where Channing Tatum is cool in like 2006 for being a macho piece of shit. But In 2014 or whatever Jonah Hill is cool for being nice and meek.
@manfightdragon @ChefLuBu_ATL Don’t Leon and Ashley just kind of have cute flirty moments this time? Isn’t that way cooler of a thing to have. Like you get to be an even cooler guy now.

@felipepepe These western RPGS have really gone downhill since the 360/ps3 era but are they still financially successful? Feel like it’s going to/ already has collapsed under its own weight. Smaller projects from Europe seem to be doing well like Disco and Larians stuff.
@shitposterback@PatStaresAt I think some of the changes they made were good. I liked what they did with Maria and David. But a game allows us to occupy a space in a way that lets us hang out with these characters. We can look at those giraffes as long as we want. We deserve the break after all of winter.
@shitposterback@PatStaresAt I think it’s just having to compress a story into episodic format. As a game you get little nuggets of characterization every 5 minutes. Not every moment is there to move the story forward. Thus the characters are allowed to breathe. The one bit they kept was the joke book stuff.
@shitposterback@PatStaresAt Joel’s writing is worse in the show than in the game. In the show he is willing to express his feelings easily. The game paces that development out in a much more subtle way. Ironically, Joel says more in the game, by keeping his guard up and not saying anything at all.
@amedeus@DudeManSir@PatStaresAt Do you think they changed Pittsburg to Kansas City because it was absurd that they only went 1/4 of the journey in a vehicle? I think the way they handle the seasonal changes in the show is also a lot weaker/ less artfully done.
