@MartinGTobias It means absolutely nothing. Few examples in the replies as to why. Let’s get to milestone based nomenclature, probably separate for solution/product vs deep tech/ med device / heavy R&D
@StephNass Growth. Shows narrowed in view of ICP and G2M. Has to have some base ($1K to $1.2K ARR less meaningful than 10-12 or 100-120), but still relevant. Lead is timing, not quality of biz. Founder quality slides right behind, “exited” a nice but not a need.
@jonathanhillis5 Disagree and agree at the same time.
The issue is not “PreSeed investors must invest pre product”. We disagree here.
The issue is ill defined verbiage that mean different things to everyone, therefore mean nothing to no one (ESP when talking macro funding reports)
@SecretCFO I wonder if you overlayed this analysis with VC funded company success rate. Maybe in some (or many) instances, success / failure is predicted more by business model than the standard problem/solution/team/market/…
@ismeenharry@saraledterman By that definition:
Preseed milestone objective is get to MVP and a seed round
Therefore seed round milestone objectives are: get from MVP all the way to commercialized product and ~$1.2-1.5M of revenue for Series A?
That’s a massive jump…
@imgyf Notion does well with free form but data records UI + functionality is awful relative to Airtable. Pfreference: use Airtable for data, embed views into Notion pages.
(Excluding deep tech / med device / biotech)
Should professional dilutive funding be available at the idea stage? If not, what should fill the gap?
Does it drive the right incentives and risk/reward?
Curious on responses 🤔
Question for “middle of the country” PreSeed-Seed investors:
IF you believe that there’s not enough capital for good founders…
AND IF most investors syndicate / don’t take full rounds…
…Is there a need for “sharp elbows” / downside to sharing dealflow?
Have any angel syndicate leads evaluated the “Nominee / Trust” structure as an alternative to the SPV structure, example (and European provider) here: https://t.co/JOvvCcFaoo
Curious if anyone has walked down this path, any US providers, thoughts?
